-Ok, Turn to page 3 of the SATA RAID Function User's Manual.
-Make a floppy from the ROM that came w/ the board; of the files in the 2nd SI3112 folder. So open up that file hold down control and select each file, right click, send to A: Floppy... If you just select the whole SI3112 folder you may have the problem I was having. The system would not read the file, even though it was on the floppy.
-BIOS settings... Advanced BIOS Features: Set the SCSI/RAID Boot Order to the SI Controller. Set the 1st boot device to CD-ROM, you are going to change this to SCSI later. Set 2nd to Floppy, and 3rd to whatever... In the Integrated Peripherals: Set the Onboard Serial ATA to "Enabled", Serial ATA Function to "BASE", On-Board Giga-RAID to "Enabled" and Giga-RAID Function to "ATA"...
-ESC back to the CMOS Menu & F-10 to save...
-Drop your XP CDROM into the drive & CTRL-ALT-DEL to restart. Let it boot from disk. After the first set of files are transfered you will have the chance to F-6 to pre-install drivers. Do so & load the floppy you made when prompted. Things should get to the point now that you know what is going on... Assuming you have installed Windows before. You will get a few prompts that the software you are loading is not XP signed, just click ok to load anyway... During the install process XP will need to floppy again so just leave it in the drive until the install is complete.
-After install is complete, select a restart, press DEL to enter the BIOS. You now want to change the first boot device to SCSI, ESC, Pull all of the disks at this point, ROM & floppy & F-10.
You should now be ready to setting up your new rig how you want it...
