gigabyte MoBo and vga graphics card

Is the Radeon HD 2400 vga video card compatible with the Gigabyte Ga-G31M-ES2L board and if so will I need to do anything with the onboard video to get this to work? need to add this will be used with an Intel MoBo and Intel CPU.

As long as the card is a PCI-e card it will be fine. You'll have to go into the bios and disable the onboard video.

Not really a comp teckie but I think I read the specs on a google search that showed it as PCI e.Hope I am right.

Yes, it's PCI Express. I have a Radeon HD 2400XT on one my systems.

Gigabyte Ga-G31M-ES2L Mobo
WD 160Gb hard drive
Coolermaster 5CAC-TO5 case
Corsair 400w single rail P/S
Samsung DVD burner
Radeon 2400 Pro Vid card
Window Xp Pro 32bit OS

would like to find memory with 4-4-4-12 timings but
not sure about the 1.8 volts vs the 2.1
Corsair Xms 2Gb (2x1Gb) 800 pc-2 6400c
will keep looking for something that would work
not into gaming or overclocking.
Total so far just around $350.US

Although I do have a ATI Radeon HD 2400 XT, it's not very good for PC gaming. So, if your into gaming I would say get a better video card for the system. That card will not give you good results in playing the newer games like Far Cry 3 or Crysis.

I think the card will work out fine since I will not be doing any gaming on this system just going to use it for general use.And for $20.00 thought it was a good buy.I am just trying to find the right memory that would work without having to go into bios to change voltage.I have checked the MoBo site and have found a couple of modules but some same 2.1 volts not sure if that would make a difference.Thanks for the info.

If your not going to do any gaming on the rig I would say the card is a good choice.

Sam, I see a lot of information on this card with AMD are we both sure this will work with the Intel E5200 cpu 775 socket? I may go with tha AsRock MoBo which has onboard video.off this subject I just read a lot of complaints about the rebate program from www.myreabtes411.com so I am thinking I will never see my $10. rebate which would have been nice.
