Gigabyte non-G1 or EVGA SC+ 980Ti - opinions?

Does anyone have any experience with the regular (non-G1 Gaming) Gigabyte WF3 980Ti? This one to be specific. I haven't found much in the way of comments or numbers for it since all attention is focused on the G1 version. There seem to be a few reports of coil whine, but that's about the only potentially irritating issue I could find.

Right now I can get the Gigabyte for $500. I can also get an EVGA SC+ ACX 2.0+ (this one) for $550. Both are in unused condition; the Gigabyte is unopened/sealed, and the EVGA is just opened.

Both do warranty by serial. Both come with a receipt. Both have the same core/boost clocks (1102/1190). Not planning to overclock much at the moment; I prefer less heat and noise anyway.

I'm leaning towards the Gigabyte for its second DVI port and its price, but if there are serious problem(s) with it that my google-fu missed then the $50 extra for the EVGA won't kill me.

Any opinions? Thanks!

I have the EVGA running 1450 on the core and 8000 on memory. I have it under water. I have been impressed with it so far.

Almost all 980Ti cards overclock similarly on air = 1450-1515mhz. Above that is usually luck of the draw. Whether the card runs at 50C or 80C has little effect on its overclocking headroom for the most part. So I'd take the cheapest after-market 980Ti, which is the Gigabyte.

Wish my Titan X cards could get even close to that. 1200MHz boost is where these top out. I really need some aftermarket cooling on these suckers.

Unless your top card is getting choked for air, your problem is that you got a dud chip and better cooling might not even help.

Dang, you got some dud cards. Both of my Titan X cards topped out at 1400 or so with the stock bios and now my remaining card tops out over 1450 with a modded bios.

That's kind of my suspicion, sadly. I have tried overclocking each card individually to no avail. The limitation seems to be with the cards themselves.

Ah well, they're still plenty fast and I have a great time gaming on them. And, fortunately, the memory overclocks well enough, for whatever that's worth

Just a few weeks ago you had 980TI's. You sold them for Titans? How come?
