Gigabyte P67A-UD4 review, anybody using this board? please comment!!

leaning toward getting this, i know they mention not being able to go past 4.5ghz. 4ghz is about all i want from it so i don't consider it a problem. anybody have it?

I'm leaning towards this board as well, though I'm kinda pissed they didn't go with the uEFI BIOS.

i like the matte black board too, gigabyte has treated me well over the last 4 boards i have owned so i am not switching now.

Nice looking board,shame about UEFI BIOS,I wonder if they'll have this option at a later date?

Surprisingly, there was no need to increase any other voltages until the multiplier was raised to 47

I was having issues getting into bios, but its actually my old 25" westinghouse LCD that is the problem.

Gigabyte is one of a few companies eschewing the new EFI route in favour of an old-style BIOS, but with hacked in 2.2TB hard disk support. Gigabyte's spin reasoning on this is that it can't make an EFI currently better than its current BIOS, and will release the update 'when it's ready'.

so looks like it may come in future bios update. me, i would rather have something now that i am comfortable with anyhow

I have it. It's a really nice board.

My chip can hit 4.8 with some tinkering, but can get 4.4 with a simple multi change and nothing more. BIOS is, well, it's a BIOS. Unless you're a hardcore OCer, you jump in it a couple times and that's that.

Recommended.

No big surprises? After market cooler fits with the RAM? Video cards in sli don't block anything important? Trying to find a board that doesn't have major problems is a hassle.

It's funny you mention that, cause my current board is a P55A-UD4P

I know it's not the same, but I have the P67A-UD3 and it works great. I haven't ventured much into overclocking yet, but it's been very stable. I really wanted to get the Asus P8P67 Pro, but micro center was out of it and I wanted to walk out of the store with all the components I needed for a working computer, haha.

Gigabyte’s dual BIOS system is on this board. Yes, that is right – BIOS. No UEFI here. Well, that's not strictly true, as one of the latest BIOS updates at the time of writing (F6) implements an EFI into the BIOS, reportedly allowing bootable access to hard drives over 2.2TB. This is due to, as Gigabyte explained, that their board is actually UEFI, but without a proper GUI interface like other boards. They've used the old BIOS-style interface for now, as after years of plugging away they believe it's quick, stable and recognisable for consumers to understand. So underneath, it's truly 64-bit, meaning 2.2TB+ partition support is possible, and could also suggest that a new GUI is coming in the future. I asked about time-scale for this, but Gigabyte were undoubtedly tight-lipped about dates and implementations.
