She said the outside box appeared fine and sent me Pics of the MB WTF happened to it...I told her I wanted to get pictures of the outside box but it was apparently thrown away what the HELL

I know the board is a bit dusty but notice that the bent corner has no dust on it ..and they had it over a week before I got a call.... I think there trying to pull a fast one..but you got to get up pretty early in the morning to scam Evilhomer ... this is rediculous..

Maybe someone unpacking it accidentally bent it and then somone else looked at it and thought that the shipping must have bent it.

I am not saying that you are at fault, and i hope you get your RMA, but after working at UPS for seven years inside a major hub, i just want to offer some future shipping advice...

You know that the package that you are shipping will probably be safe to ship thru the mail if you try and meet these guidelines:
Would you feel safe dropping the box to the ground from over your head?
Would you feel safe giving the box a quick kick across the kitchen?

It sounds scary, but i have seen worse. :Q

Also, the lighter and smaller the box, yet still to big to fit thru a coat hanger, the greater the chance of it getting crushed in with the larger boxes.

Again, I hope you get a new board.

How can she claim the shipping carton was in fine shape if she cannot produce the carton as proof?

Are you dealing directly with Gigabyte?

Thanks ...I would of been comfortable dropping th box out of a moving car I had it in a MB box with bubble wrap , and then inside a big box that had popcorn stuffing on both sides ... The RMA lady even said the outside of the box was fine ....

Yes The Gigabyte RMA lady ...I think thats why she said she would speak to a supervisor ..because I said I need pictures of the outside box for FEDEX and she said that when the box is fine they usually throw it away, i told her thats rediculous ...but they had my board for over a week before someone contacted me ...something doesn't add up

It looks like the board may have gotten too hot during shipping? If it was damaged in shipping and you insured it possibly you can file a claim? I'm not sure how far you can get w/o the box though.
Definitely a mystery. Good luck.

That was dropped on a corner or jammed between two bigger boxes. I would be making a damage claim with the shipping company. The box was probably flexible enough not to show much damage from being bent.

That board itself is actually cracked, not bent. The only way it would stay that way is if it's cracked.

Hot enough to melt the board would have burned the box.

normally I'de be fine with that ...But what kind of claim can I mae to FedEx without a box ...also they received my board on the 7th and it took them this long to get back to me .....and also if that damage was caused by fedex there definitely would have to be some damage to the box because I had a box inside a box ...and she said the boxes appeared to have no damage...Im just going to wait and see what Gigabyte says before I file a claim with FedEx..

Looking at the first photo again, I would say the board is definitely broken.

The most logical explanation is that it was dropped on that corner by someone at Gigabyte after they took it out of your boxe(s).

There is still a slim possibility that FedEx did it, but if I were a betting man, I'd bet on Gigabyte's receiving dept.

It's even possible that FedEx opened it and reboxed it. They have the right to do that.

That pic reminds me of Ace ventura where the UPS guy at beginning is kicking the krap out of a package. like playing soccer ball to deliver it to someone.

Glad you got it resolved. Now exactly what are you going to do with that ancient board?

Couple questions.
Did you have to pay return shipping for the replacement board?
How was their RMA process otherwise? Any advice? (aside from pack it well )
I have to RMA a board through Giga right now as well. I filled out the paperwork last night when I noticed they wanted an extra $10 for return shipping of the part back to me. I kinda flipped out. This will put my cost at well over $100 and at best I can only hope for a refurb replacement that is prolly worth half what my original board cost. I sent a message to the CSR with my paperwork saying that was not acceptable, please make it right. So we'll see what they say.
Has anyone else gone through an RMA with Giga?

Yes I had to pay for return shipping ..but I would call them because your not required to pay the $10 on all RMA MB's...there is only 2 women in the RMA dept you can get the number off of the web sit and then use extention 224 or 226.... other than that ..it sucked ..because of this ...well we'll see if they take care of it ...definitly get insurance and if you can take a pic of the board before you ship ...OOoohh yeah if you read ..it say it could take up to 30 days...ouch
