I ordered mine off tigerdirect on Saturday the 26th. With the holiday, it may not arrive until next week.
This is my first discrete GPU ever. I'd like to try my luck at overclocking it a bit, but don't know the process and the necessary software.
Can someone give me a quick run through on the steps to overclock this card (gpu core and memory) and what software is needed for stability testing? How long are stability tests generally required to run before getting an approval rating?
Cheers for the help.
Hi there Destiny,I'm new to the forums and I've recently purchased this GPU, not to mention I have a very similar rig! Link: http://pcpartpicker.com/uk/p/9Qkh
So I was wondering, due to the extremely similar rig, how happy you are with the card, the temps and benchmarks etc! Also, as you can see in the link, I have a 550w PSU like yours, so that should be enough?
Thanks!
Hi guys, I just got a Gigabyte WIndforce GTX 670 and installed in my rig. I've run 3DMark and Heaven while running GPU-Z and my max clock speed is 1097.4. It seems like my card is significantly lower than everyone else's out-of-box speed. Am I missing a step in measuring boost clock out of the box? Or did I lose the lottery? :|
For reference, this is my build:
CPU: i5-3750k
GPU: GB Windforce GTX 670
PSU: Corsair Enthusiast 650w
Mobo: Asus P8Z77-V
RAM: Corsair Vengeance LP 8GB
SSD : Crucial M4 128GB
HDD : Seagate Barracuda 7200RPM 2TB
Cooler: CM Hyper 212 EVO
Case: Corsair Carbide 500R
Optical: LG WH14NS40
Monitor: Asus 248H-P
Thanks!
I'm not sure if you are collecting the data right... use Techpowerup GPU-Z or MSI afterburner - then choose the highest point in the graph and that number should tell you what the max boost clock speed is... mines top out at 1163MHz

Hi I am kinda new to the pc world in terms of practical building but I have done my homework so to speak and feel confident I could build my first pc. I was just looking for your guys opinion on my first gaming build and weather you have any recommendations( I haven't purchased the hardware, yet still saving)
- Crosair 650d case,
- ASRock X79 Extreme6 LGA 2011 Intel X79 SATA.
- Intel Core i7-3930K Sandy Bridge-E 3.2GHz (3.8GHz Turbo) LGA 2011 130W Six-Core.
- GIGABYTE GV-N670OC-2GD GeForce GTX 670 2GB 256-bit GDDR5
- Rosewill HIVE Series HIVE-750 750W Continuous @40°C, 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified
- COOLER MASTER Hyper 212 EVO RR-212E-20PK-R2
- Crucial M4 CT064M4SSD2 2.5" 64GB SATA III ssd
- SAMSUNG Spinpoint F3 HD103SJ 1TB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive.
Would appreciate some feed back Thanks.

Lol,you are good to go
Geothegreat100, you really should start a new thread in the General Hardware section of this forum. One piece of advice to start you off: if you're new to building systems, you probably should not purchase the 3930k. That's a special purpose CPU.
While not ideal, I got all three cards stacked in there with adequate spacing. I have an AC unit blowing into the card stack and the temps are in the mid 50s. When I had two cards with generous spacing my load temps were low 40s. I wish there were flexible tri-SLI bridges that would allow me to space these guys out from the master card.
Hi guys,
Just wanted to pitch in.
My new Gigabyte GTX 670 clocks in at a steady 1202 MHz - though I haven't tried overclocking yet, as I do not feel the need.
However, I think my AMD Phenom II X6 1055T is bottlenecking, as most games only utilize about a 60-70 GPU usage. Battlefield 3 singleplayer does force a gpu usage of 98 % in peaks - but is also hovering around the 80 mark.
Though, the weird thing is that the CPU is never at 99 % - but mostly hovers around 60 %. Therefore, I didn't expect a CPU bottleneck. Perhaps I should try more extreme overclocking than my current 3.4 GHz.
Hello guys, yesterday my 670 arrived and today i did a 3DMark11 benchmark and these are the results:
Is that score normal, cause it seems too low to me? Could it be, cause my cpu is an old Core Duo E6400 and my ram is 4gb value kingston ram and that's why i get that score?
i absolutely guarantee you that you won't notice a difference. I went from a X6-1100T @ 3.8ghz to a 2500k @ 4.4ghz, it performs exactly the same in all games when AA is switched on & quality settings are maximized all @ 1080p.
You are probably getting 30-40% of the performance of the 670 with that CPU. I tested an E6600 for fun with an HD7970 vs. a 6970 and the improvement in games was anywhere from negative to 10%.....You need to upgrade that CPU ASAP. It's horribly bottlenecking your 670. An E6400 even bottlenecked a GTX460 all the way back in 2010.

Starcraft II
F1 2010
Huge E6400 CPU bottleneck!
