HI all - couple of days ago I posted a thread here with regards to a little problem (now fixed) I was having after a fresh install of my PC. Basically I've recently upgraded my CPU + MB to Intel i5 2500K + Gigabyte Z68XP-UD3 and built it in a beast of a case: Fractal Design XL! Have kept the PSU, RAM, GPU(s), SSD + HDDs and OD from my existing build (see sig) which had all been working happily.
So last night I was having a little installation and setup session. Installed latest drivers, then started installing some of my common programs + games. Everything was going smoothly and insalling fast like you'd expect from the system. After I'd installed drivers AV, chrome etc I moved on to downloading + installing a couple of games. This is when the PC restarted - was instant/sudden/violent as if there had been a power cut :/
At the time I was downloading the game League of Legends, watching a movie in WMP and had Windows Live Messenger open with a couple of convos, nothing very stressful. Happened quite late at night so I didn't have much time to investigate. I did check Windows Event Log and only thing in there was the Critical (!) 'Last time the PC was shutdown incorrectly bla bla' message. Nothing prior to the shutdown indicating what might have happened :S
I guess tonight I'll have to do some stress testing (MemTest / LinX etc) to try and see what is wrong. Was wondering if anyone else had any ideas or guesses as to what is at fault?
Thansk all!
(ps sorry for rather long winded post!)
