Thanks, just about ordered the non-raid version last night. Glad I waited until this morning

Ordered it with fedex overnight....shipping was $22

Thanks again!

BTW, there were like 53 in stock when I ordered.

I got one.
Its well worth it for the extra $7 from the non raid and lasck of ethernet. and etc...

I'm replacing my dying IWILL KK266 - I'm having some problems with the IDE controllers.

The problem is that I have 4 dimm of cas 2 256mb each for 768mb.

Would anyone trade 2 dimm of pc3200 or more of 256mb DDR ram for my 3 sticks?

or other stuff in my post.

Because THEY DON'T WORK, at least the one I bought. Last month, I bought a refurb MSI K7N420 mobo, priced at half of the retail price ($65 vs $130). But guess what, it didn't work at all. After connecting CPU/memory/HDD/FDD properly, I powered up the system, and PS did power up for 5 seconds, then shutsdown by itself. Good thing none of my parts were damaged. I spent like 3 hrs trying different parts/settings, but concludes that mobo is simply BAD. Good thing is that newegg.com don't charge shipping on refurb, but I do have to pay the return postage for RMA. So my advice to anyone looking at refurb is this: if you feel adventuresome and willing to gamble your components and losing $5 return postage, go ahead and get one of these boards.

BTW, refurb (OEM, barebone) also means no IDE/FDD or any cables, no back panel. My came with mobo only.

Got one.
For Half off, i don't care about cables or any other fluff. If it doesn't work, the 5 bucks for sending it back still puts me ahead over buying it fresh off the dock. (Also with no guarantees that it will run right out of the box as well, any part can be DOA at any time...)

That's the risk you have to take with ordering a refurb though.

I bought one of these a month ago, and it works great. Didn't come with any accessories though.

I've ordered several of these boards from newegg refurb.
A few were retail, others looked to be fresh RMA types. Awesome boards if you set them up right.
Most of the troublework has been done over @ Gigabyte Forums Athlon MB
Just go to the gigabyte motherboard forum and start digging if you have trouble.

If anyone get's a revision 2.0 lmk how it is!

I tried one of these boards 3 months ago. Yeah they have a lot of features. Except for one. Every other kt333 board has a 1/5th PCI divider. For some reason and if you check amdmb.com's forums this one does not.

The board is a terrible overclocker. I couldnt even get my wonder chip 1600xp that does 220fsb in a epox kt333 board to get over 155 on this board.

Promise raid sucks, the creative onboard sound is only 2 channel, the CPU volt's are low from the door. Save your money. Only thing worthy on this board is the onboard lan, and USB 2.0

i can't get my wonderfull xp 1600+ AGOIA to post at 166 fsb either. What a waste of my 512mb PC2700 Samsung ram and Swiftech SLK-800 heatsink with a 92mm fan mounted on top

The price is great for a board that seemingly comes with a whole list of great features. However, in May I used this board for a system for my friend and we had such a pain setting it up. It wouldn't boot properly unless his CD drives and his HDD were in a particular order. Also, the BIOS blows. You can barely tweak anything in there (I hate how it gives you barely any control over the memory settings) and as people have mentioned, it's not too good of an overclocker.

If you're thinking of this board to go with your brand new AGOIA or AROIA XP 1600+, spend a few more bucks and get a better board (Epox or something) because this board will not satisfy you.

However, if you just want a stock system with all the features like USB 2.0, decent onboard audio and stuff, this board is a bargain.

Well I gave in. Its not really all I want in a board but for $66 it'll give me something to experiment with till I see the perfect one. I also got an xp1600+ to go with it but I see you all don't seem to like this combination. I had to hurry up and get something to go with the ddr ram and ata133 drives I bought last week.

I can't speak to the quality of newegg refurbs, as I've never bought one, but I can say that this mobo is awesome. I've built several systems using it, and have never had any problems. Rock solid performance.

By the way: The 7VRXP was the board that AMD itself sent out with tests of the new 2200+....

Got mine yesterday, came without any accessories- just plain board, rev.2. Accepted 1600+ no problem overclocked to 2200+ and running well, will report later , when will have time to setup RAID. For some reason itwont let me change multiplier on the unlocked 1600+ whcih I was able to chaneg on Abit KT7A, just the other day, however it overclocks well with FSB, and thats pretty much all I wanted. It is a keeper for me...
Drivers and programs for it are available at www.giga-byte.com ...
