Gigaworks S750: Should I upgrade my Audigy ES to a Audigy 2 ZS?

I'll be getting the Gigaworks S750 soon, and I'm not sure if I should upgrade my soundcard or not. I've currently got an Audigy ES. I know the Audigy 2 ZS supports all 7 satellites, but there also aren't many things that support 7.1 yet that I know of (And I'm not sure how well the upmixing works on the speakers). If I don't get the soundcard, I'll probably get some speaker stands for the rears instead of finding some random objects to put them on (dorm room, so limited there). Would the real-world performance increase I'd get be worth the additional purchase?

well i have both currently, and if u dont' wanna spend too much for the new audigy, u can always get m-audio or another 7.1 sound card lil cheaper; speakers are excellent, you will not be disappointed.

some people liked 5.1 better than 7.1 for movies, because AFAIK DTS & DD > 5 channel is not a discrete channel, but a matrix or interpolated one. But it's personal, and having 7.1 if you do gaming is great.

Yeah, there's not much encoded in 7.1, and even if you did have a DVD that was, chances are your player (software like WMP, PowerDVD, etc.) wouldn't be up to it unless you've upgraded it to the highest level. Thats what I hate about DVD on PC, if you want to get the 5.1 or better soundtracks you have to pay a bunch of money for software to do it. Its annoying especially after the cost for the hardware to do so.
