Nope.

As a white male, I just love this bullshit where I'm supposedly bigoted against white males. Why don't you just get it over with and call me a n****r lover?
The ad has nothing to do with race, so why go there? Your comment is however very insightful into how you view the world. Perhaps you need a soothing shave with five comforting blades and an aloe strip, all while sipping a refreshing crystal Pepsi?

Hey he we already established you are some kind of girly man who uses a safety razor. Not sure your opinion matters here since the subject was actual men.
I also moisturize with SPF, use lip balm and cry when watching Pixar movies. The Gillette as is not the ad we deserve, but its the ad we need!

What if the stereotypes were negative black male stereotypes, instead of all males?

No one has said this was an attack on white men. Quit playing dumb, you keep dodging the question.

Yeh- I mean, what if you could make it about race instead of men?

Then you could get comfy condemning "black" behavior, whatever that is.

Yep. Like I said about 80 pages ago... I was only semi-joking, but it's true; a real man wouldn't let an advertisement control his emotions.

I love the way they go all hurfity-burfity & self righteous. It's a thing of beauty.

Yeah that sounds like me. Just keep playing dumb.

Regardless, it is obvious that you have no interest in having an honest discussion about this topic, so I am done attempting. I do feel sad for you that you feel anyone disagreeing with you must be a horrible person, or else there is no other reason they would disagree.

And back to projecting, of course.

For what its worth, there is a local ad running right now for a boat show this weekend. The whole thing is "I'm a real MAN!" crap showing a gun doing random outdoor stuff. I dislike it much more than this Gillette ad. At least the Gillette ad is attempting to have a good message even though I don't like the delivery. This local ad is basically the stereotypical "real man" commercial.

Have a cookie.

Of course the person posting many paragraphs of thought and no personal attacks is the one projecting, while the poster responding with one sentence accusing that poster of being in denial of being an asshole is the one engaging in honest debate.

Maybe you should look up what projecting means. I'll give you a hit, it looks like this:
It hits too close to home for them to like it at all. They see being an asshole as part of their manly essence.
They're thinking with the head of their dick instead of the head on their shoulders
Made you squirm, huh? and now you'll lash out at the people who made you feel that way.
It's only possible when viewing it thru the gun slits in the bunker o' denial.
Then you could get comfy condemning "black" behavior

I'm sorry you lack any self reflection and resort to the exact same tools as DSF when someone disagrees with you.

Your lack of introspection is unremarkable. There's a little bit of all that stupid shit in nearly all men of our culture, including me. Some of us recognize it as that, some of us pretend it's not there, some of us embrace it.

lol not sure who they are trying to kid - business stats like revenue and such aren't reported on a weekly basis... hell, usually not even looked at on a monthly basis but rather quarterly. The ad is maybe... 2 weeks old?

So bunch of bullshit to be declaring at this point. Soo.... #Fakenews
Ah, your poor feels. There there, it's alright.

I just love retards like you - trying to find whatever article you can to fit your agenda at all times.

Anyone with half a brain in the business world understands what I just said in my last post - Financials are something that is reported on a quarterly basis. In addition... the ad is a fucking week old. Do you buy your razorblades every week? No? Ok then dr. dipshit - point proven.

P&G says Gillette sales were unaffected by the ad. Stock price up 4% today.

https://www.cnn.com/2019/01/23/business/gillette-ad-procter-and-gamble-stock/index.html
Of course they are going to say that. From your article, their stock is up due to strong sales from their Tide and Olay lines. Personal grooming is a declining business unit, and a few investor websites in the last year have been giving heat to P&G for not evolving. It’s too soon to know if virtue signaling was a winning strategy.

True, companies don't report sales/income/losses weekly but quarterly.

But, I guarantee you P&G/Gillette keeps up internally with sales at least weekly, if not daily. It'd be irresponsible and idiotic for a company to NOT keep up with sales daily/weekly.

Not sure about that /shrug. I don't think they can watch sales numbers that much - since they are the manufacturers, I would figure big box retailers buy them on a huge (bulk) basis. Being able to see dips in their sale numbers is something that would probably take a bit to see correlation.

Either way my additional point was that people (at least myself and I presume other normal folks) don't buy razorblades that often. Usually a cartridge can last up to a month before even needing to switch a lot of times, so since this ad is just over 1 week old plenty of people won't even be in line to buy new razors for some time.

Project much? All I did here was link to this article. The rest is all your interpretation to try to fit the facts to your agenda. And with so much bitter angry emotion!

Meanwhile, I don't really have an agenda here. Except maybe to point out that the general public doesn't really give a shit about this. Too soon to know about Gillette? Maybe, but people are still buying Nikes, still watching NFL games, still shopping at Target.

So rage on, bro! No one cares.

The only thing new about this kind of advertising strategy is calling it virtue signaling. Otherwise, it's been around since long before Coca-Cola told us we should buy the whole world a Coke.
