Gillette Fusion: power vs non-power

I was a loyal mach3 guy, and now a loyal fusion guy... I've tried both the power vs. non-power, and much prefer the power. I have very sensitive skin and the power just seems to do a better job with irritation and razor burn.

Anyway, here is my question. The regular fusion blades are less than the power, and I am wondering if anyone has noted a difference when putting a regular blade on a power shaver?

I am wondering if there is a legit difference, or if it is a marketing scheme.

Either way, the blades are still very expensive. I get them off ebay to try to reduce my costs. In the store they are about $3 a blade. On ebay, $1.25 - $1.50 a blade.

Any comments?

They are both overpriced IMO and don't really work any better than the Mach 3.

I'm going back to my Mach 3 when I run out of Fusion blades.

Just remember when you watch those multi-million dollar commercials that you helped pay for them.

Seriously, why are we reinventing the wheel? I feel like we should have reached the peak of razor blade technology by now...

I use Fusion and I think it's much better than anything before, even Mach 3. I've always had a really sensitive neck area, and now I don't get nearly as jacked up as I did in the past.

I am not a fan of the "power" though. But I definitely think that I can shave with much less skin irritation now.

i got a regular fusion and i gotta say.. i think it beats the mach3. the schick quattro, however, did nothing for me (it sucked bigtime).

I think the blades are all the same, honestly. Power vs nonpower blades shouldn't matter. I put nonpower blades on my power fusion all the time.

oh man, i've used mach 3 since I was 18, and now I'm a fusion fanboy. I know I've succumbed to the dark side of giving away money to Gillete, but hell, the power version glides across my neck like butter, AND gets rid of the stubble that was almost impossible to get rid of w/ the mach 3 or any other razor out there. I've always cut myself on the neck; or had slight irritation in the neck area after shaving. W/ the fusion, it was reduced dramatically, and got a significantly closer shave. I've tried everything else to tackle that annoying neck area, and was delighted that finally, there is only one razor out there that can do the job on my neck correctly.

Just because of that, It's strictly fusion power for me. I can't really settle for anything else now.

I'm a big fan of the power Fusion as well. I've still got a non-powered Mach 3 lying around, and have also used my friends powered version, along with testing out the Fusion while it was turned off. After all that, I definitely noticed the difference that the power Fusion makes.

Then again, I'm one of the unlucky individuals who has to shave on a daily basis.

Feh. The main reason that powered wet razors give you less irriration is because they numb the skin. Shave like a man: one blade (at about US$0.50 per blade), decent razor handle, shave brush, and proper technique. Yeah there's a learning curve, but afterwards you'll have better, more comfortable, less irritating shaves compared to some marketing genius' idea of a shaving "system." Link.

I'm still a Mach 3 guy... I might actually start using the Fusion if they send it to me for free.

I like the fusion power but the blades are only lasting me about 1.5 to 2 weeks (shave 3 to 4 times a week). After that it gets really painful to shave with them.

Don't buy razor blades on eBay... a lot of them are counterfeits. Buy them at Costco.

I have two Powers and one non-Power I think. I like the power...

I shave around 1 once every other week, and use the power fusion with the power blades. I think it is much better than the Mach 3. And gives me a clean shave.

I think my M3 power and Mach 3 give me decently close shaves. You just have to stroke a few more times to get that close shave the Fusion gets. In teh end, you can get just as close with both blades. Obviously you don't need to run the blades over your skin as many times with teh Fusion.

I think the Power makes it less irritating because instead of having to drag across your skin en tirely, teh vibrations move the blades and thus some of the hair gets cut by the vibrations. Iono, makes it less irritating IMO. That said, I don't mind leaving the power off either. Both work well for me.
