Though if I was one of those last few guys, I would've leaned into a pitch.

There is no way, as an 11 year old, I would've been able to face my friends, having struck out at all my at bats vs a girl.

Or if I was an opposing pitcher, she'd have gotten drilled.

Wouldn't happen now, but as an 11 year old, this would've lead to months of torture in school.
