I shared a house with a girl in a platonic fashion for a few months. She was a friend from work and we pretty much hung out together all the time anyway since we had a lot of the same friends. So when she needed a roommate in a pinch and I was looking for a place, I said ok.

No problems at all. She had a steady boyfriend so she wasn't bringing sleazy criminals home from the bar. Aside from the bar or whatever, I hardly ever saw her. I worked days and she worked evenings. It was almost like having my own place.

Another female roommate was great. She was courteous. Then again, that's when I was living in Sweden and had a live in girlfriend. It started off as the 2 girls living together, and I moved in on them. Best roommates I've ever had.

However I have done the female roommate thing in the past and had it turn out REAL bad once. you know why?
guys ARE asshole (in general).
with her everything went much more smoothly and we are still good frinds (after 3 years)
maybe i just got good lack with her and bad lack with the guys (they where really bad Roommates)

but ive never had a female roommate. so i cant comment. but since you're going to be saving so much money, and from what you said she seems like a nice person, i say go for it. its only for 6 months

Truth spoken here. I had a female roommate move in just this year in Feb. Before that we were ok but pretty distant friends... by the end of the 6th week we got to know each other biblically...

This normally wouldn't be bad... the week prior i happened to be talking to my ex about getting back together... long story short, for some reason I started to lose my mind and believe that honesty was the best policy when dealing with such situations so I told my ex about it think i mean come on... she was in a relationship with someone else at the time, and i thought was "single." Of course this is not how the opposite sex thinks and then all hell broke loose...

Funny, the ex and the ex-roommate are good friends now...

And now I don't have a roommate anymore...

oh, and Hell Breaking loose... that was pretty fvcking interesting... LOL
