There might be outliers, but if you consider all evidence available in front of you, chances are, most people that sided with the parents are right. Even her stupid claims against her parents are laughable.

depends on what one of those teachers apparantly overheard

Oh, you mean this incident?
Rachel also shares an incident involving her suspected intoxication at her school’s Homecoming dance where it was later discovered she was not intoxicated; however, the school did require she call her parents who were away in Las Vegas. She reports the first time she called her father hung up and during the subsequent call, both of her parents screamed obscenities at her, in the presence of a teacher whom she identifies as Kathleen Smith.
Oh, you mean this incident? I have bolded the important part just to make it easier on you.

Let's see, spoiled teenager + home coming, but not drunk. But, the school made her calls the parents anyways... Yeah...

And, this is absolutely the FIRST time she was reportedly not intoxicated...

Seriously, is this really how your mind works? Because it is scary.

you are directly interpreting the quote you just put up in a manner that is not truthful to what was written.

what does kathleen smith have to say?

you seem not to care. maybe you might be pissed if she even did say something?

Why don't you ask what Kathleen Smith what was said, then come back here with something other than "well the spoiled girl said".

So, in your mind, what could Kathleen Smith possibly heard? Really, don't hold back. You seem so critical of the parents based on hearsay, but completely ignore the fact that there are records of the girl being more than disrespectful towards her mom.

From what I've seen and read, everything about that girl, her life style, her upbringing, what's known of her based on her social standing in school, tells me that the parents aren't at fault here (other than raising a failed brat, or failed at parenting at some point).

You, on the other hand, have some real issues.

I think I might be wasting my time here answering to your posts. Either you're incredibly stupid, or I'm being trolled. But I highly doubt I'm being trolled because my troll sense is not tingling.

Rachel Canning, the New Jersey teenager who sued her parents for financial support after she left their home, has proved Thomas Wolfe wrong: It seems you can, indeed, go home again, despite legal unpleasantness.
Canning, 18, a cheerleader, athlete and honor student, returned to the safety and security of her family in Roseland, N.J.
Her lawyer, Angelo Sarno told reporters that the teenager "has returned home and reunited with her parents and siblings. Her return home is not contingent on any financial and/or other considerations."

At a news conference, he said the suit Canning had brought against her parents had been settled "amicably," but refused additional comment. He also asked the media to respect the privacy of the family, which he said had suffered during the proceedings.
Canning created a national stir when she sued her parents for child support and for tuition for high school. A judge ruled against her initial request but the case was scheduled to be argued next month on the larger question of whether her parents were obligated to support Canning after she left home.
The teenager left her parents' home on Oct. 30, days before she turned 18. In court filings she accused her parents of being abusive and insisted she was old enough to do what she wanted.
Her parents, retired Lincoln Park police Chief Sean Canning and his wife, Elizabeth, said their daughter chose to leave home after refusing to adhere to reasonable rules, including being respectful, doing chores and keeping a curfew. The parents also asked her to end a relationship with a boyfriend.
In the first round of court proceedings, State Superior Court Judge Peter Bogaard sounded skeptical of some of the teen's request, saying it could lead to teenagers "thumbing their noses" at their parents, leaving home and then asking for financial support.
"Are we going to open the gates for 12-year-olds to sue for an Xbox? For 13-year-olds to sue for an iPhone?" he asked. "We should be mindful of a potentially slippery slope."
Canning had been living in Rockaway Township with the family of her best friend. The friend's father, former Morris County Freeholder John Inglesino, was paying for the lawsuit.

Good news. A family is reunited. And hopefully the development of yet another entitled ass hat has been diverted.

Probably postponed, not diverted. Most children with that sense of entitlement at age 18 are going to be that way for life.

Parents let her back too easily.

I can see why she is so spoiled.

how can you possibly know that they let her back too easily? What would you think is an appropriate amount of groveling to let her back in?

My guess: friend's dad gave her a week/few days to leave because he realized he wasn't going to get any money to pay her bills. Spoiled child realized that living outside was going to be hard, so she's going to try harder to listen to mommy and daddy.

Personally, there's no way I'd let a brat who sued me in court and accused me of all sorts of things (like molestation or abuse) anywhere near my house again. That's not just a kid making a mistake, that kind of damage is irreparable IMO.

Give her nothing, boot her out of the house and let her go fend for herself, that little worthless idiot with a huge sense of entitlement.

That's how you get sued in the first place! :awe:

I wouldn't let her back in. There's a difference between biting the hand that feeds you and taking your family to court because life is hard and you're entitled.

I agree. i bet the friends dad told her now she has to get a job to start paying rent.

I think the parents are making a mistake letting her back in.

Lol, makes it sound like she was in imminent danger by not living at home.

lol, i read that too and found that statement in the article stupid.

also, its quite obvious that she is the perfect definition of a spoiled brat.
