The power they have? She forced him to have sex with her?
Check ID if you are going to have a casual encounter with a stranger FTW.
Nobody forced anybody, thats the point. She was with him for TWO YEARS. Its not like he raped her.
And Yea thats what its come down to, you have to check IDs. I think thats sad, and I think America's age of consent laws are sad on the same level as legal drinking age. Canada has it right in my mind, in fact - the rest of the 1st world countries have it right.
A 15 year old does not have the decision making abilities that an adult does.
And I say they do, we have a difference of opinion. As I already indicated, much more then half of the entire world agrees with me, so I can assure you that there are more people who share my opinion
The law doesn't. The law owns more guns than I do.
Actually, since Vicks age wasn't given when he initially had sexual contact with this 15 yo, the fact that I don't personally know the state laws for virginia AOC, and last but not least the fact that it said NO WHERE that any laws were broken, your only assuming that there were laws broken. Each state differs but there are states where if he was 19 and she was 15 it was perfectly legal.
Besides, the law isn't always right just because its the law. Some laws need to be changed
Already looked it up -
http://www.vahealth.org/civp/sexualviolence/varapelaws/laws_rape.asp
"The first statute deals with carnal knowledge of a child between thirteen and fifteen years of age. Therefore, if you are 18 years of age or older and have sex with a 13 or 14 year old minor, that is a Class 4 felony and punishable by 2-10 yrs and up to $100,000 fine.
The second statute deals with someone 18 years of age or older having sex with someone age 15, 16, or 17 years of age, which is a class one misdemeanor and punishable with up to one year in jail and a $2,500.00 fine."
If he is 22 now that means he was 19 or 20 then, he was obviously over 18 if he was a college football player.
And unless you plan on armed revolution and smashing the state, you need to have the laws changed BEFORE you do something against them unless you are willing to do the time. Just because you think it's ok to have sex with a 15 year old doesnt make it legal. Just because you think you can smoke pot walking down the sidewalk doesn't mean you aren't going to get busted.
