well that's only true in your specific case. but what about when both parties feel the same way?

Short term,no strings hook up's have been happening since the beginning of time,if it's with mutual consent and understanding it's fine.. but even then normal people at least hold some modicum of respect for their partner.

The younger people I've seen though,it's not about no strings fun,not in many cases,it's more about repressed anger,social ineptness,numbness and apathy. It's like it's not fun unless you can get a heavy shot of degradation in .. usually aimed at the female.

hmm, i can't say i agree with your second part because it seems as if you regard it as a social problem. could you please give me some example of what you're referring to, because all i can think of where guys have fun, while girls are "degraded" are things like girls gone wild and the like. the interesting thing is that the females have a choice, yet they choose to play into this degradation.

Probably a combination of all three. People tend to insult what they don't understand, and they tend to hate what they can't have.

That is not part of self-respect. Self respect is just that- SELF respect. How you treat those who you dislike has nothing to do with SELF respect.

I simply hold others to the same standards that I hold myself to. I wouldn't feel right whoring around town, and I don't think it's right when I see others doing it. Yes, I look down upon them.

And i am also sure you have been on the top 98% of people who have no social skills because they feel they are better than all. I'm not going to lie- I've never been viewed as the nicest guy in class. I was always content just being the smartest in class.
