It is just one less decision that you have to make in the morning. How right you are! I find it a hassel when I have to pick my clothes out now. I know I have no style, but thats part of my style...

What I do dislike though is when my girlfriend makes me spend MY money to buy MYSELF clothes because she thinks mine are worn out. If not for her I'd be wearing $20 shirts and $25 pants until they literally fell off. I'd never buy myself new shoes either because I just don't care enough.

My thoughts exactly! Of course some men like that in a woman, I personally wouldn't be able to stand it. Suggestions are fine, commands are not. I'm blessed to have a great fiancee who respects my need to have my own style.

Plus, you're young, your in college, this is something you definitely dont need to be worrying about. If it doesnt work out, cest la vie! Go have fun!

Women should respect men also, and your girlfriend isn't respecting you by telling you what to wear. If you don't want her to tell you what to wear then tell her that. If you conitnue to let her do that then she'll think that you like that and she will expand from there. Isn't the key to a good relationship communication.

yeah, if she points out something that is obviously got a stain, or is out of taste, and suggests you change it that's one thing, but if she knows your wardrobe better than you do, ask her to lighten up. I know a few people that are about that age and are getting into serious relationships, and it seems to be about balance, they always let the g/f speak and then weigh things on that. Communication is 2 parts hearing 1 part speaking, but that applys to the g/f and the b/f. right? oh and windogg, welcome back.

Not a huge leap there, but by all means retract it and deny it.

She's starting to tell me what I can and cannot wear. We've been together for a year --how am I gonna get out of THIS one?!

Why don't you step up and be a man? Are you afraid to tell her the truth that you don't like her telling you what to wear? Like you said, you're only 19 and you've obviously expressed the opinion that you're not wanting to marry her right now. Tell her what's up and if she doesn't like it, she can go find someone else to boss around. If you were getting sex out of the relationship you would have something to lose, but all you have to lose now is a relationship that you're not happy with. College is filled with women, and if you're man enough most of them won't tell you what to do.
