She actually didn't pay $6000 for it. She paid $1000 for it from an ad in the Recyclers. I'm not upset that she paid that kind of money for it. I'm upset that she paid a for profit breeder instead of going through a shelter. Pic will come up shortly.

There's a big difference between paying a good breeder and paying a pet store. There's nothing wrong with wanting a dog with pedigree.

Unless you're filthy rich, dump her. I wouldn't be with someone that irresponsible with my money. Hell, I probably won't ever be with anybody anyhow (or, if I was, wouldn't give her access to my money).

Hope to God the place will take it back within 30-days... I would freaking die if something like that happened to me. I don't think any kind of puppy is worth that much money. Guy at the pet store probably just pocketed over $5,000 and quit.

I don't know of any pet shops with $6k dogs.

Doesn't make any sense at all....even from a champion breeder there are few $6k dogs out there.

I like pound puppies and strays, I think they have a way better genetic background most times and personality.

When I get a Shiba Inu I will problaby have to find an actual breeder or deal with adopting one in Japan / overseas and dealing with the export and quaritine process.

My wife wants a Corgi (and will be named Ein actually) and we have seen lots of those in adoption facilities.

Do NOT get that dog fixed. The only way you'll recoup your cost is through breeding.
