I will add - call me immature but I'm always thinking, whenever I'm having dinner with my wife and a female friend (either hers or mine), ".. are we going to make out?" especially when drinks are added. not that that would be a good thing, it's just the fact that the 2+1 dynamic is very peculiar... I actually try to avoid it. 2+2 is fine, but a couple plus a single person just feels so weird to me. because I have the mind of a 12 year old

There's no right or wrong answer . . . whenever I got out to eat with my gf and her friend, I pretty much always pay just to avoid the awkwardness and not wanting to come off as cheap. Good thing is that we don't go out together that much.

Try to get out of these dinners if at all possible and if there's no getting out of it, bite the bullet, you're in a no-win by demanding her to pay for herself.
