can i ask you how you freeze your meat to make sure it tastes good after thawing?
It always seems that when i freeze steak or chicken that it tastes bad... even if i use freezer bags and foil.


the place i get it wraps it in butcher paper (the best solution) and flash freeze it. WE just then throw it in the deepfreezer. NOT the freezer with the fridge. it just does not get cold enough.

edit: oh should mention its wraped in plastic first the butcher paper. I had it in the deep freezer for 11 months and NO freezer burn.

I think he meant flash freeze.

It is possible to keep meat frozen over a long period using just a deep freezer though. It should first be wrapped very close with plastic wrap, then paper. After that, toss it in the deep freezer (a regular freezer wont keep meat for very long)

The other thing is thawing... Improper thawing can ruin meat as well. The best is to take it out of the deep freezer and put it in the fridge for a day before you want to use it and let it thaw slowly.

I use the marinade as a sauce, but i pour it into the hot pan while the steak is resting - usually it boils almost instantly. I reckon a minute of that would kill any bacteria. After that i turn the pan off and put a little cornflour+water mix in to thicken it.

/edit: honey, soy sauce, rice vinegar (not too much), maybe a bit of ginger, garlic, chili.

each steak bundle is $233 and the extra 30lbs was $2.09 a pound. so around $320 for everything.

to deep freeze? uhh its a regular deep freezer.

the meat market flash freezes it for me. not sure how they do that.

inbodens is awesome! i used to go there once or twice a month when I lived in dekalb for college!

parking is still a problem. but the store is great. always spend a ton of money whenever we hit it heh
