....:hmm: how about pork tenderloin + cane ginger ale in a crock pot? win?

might have to give that a try. i recall my local grocer sells a 4pk of cane ginger ale, it wasnt very sweet though.

I made this stuff a few days ago for some ribs and it was fantastic. I will definitely be making it again.

One time I made ribs in a slow cooker (dry rub + 10 hrs), then I took the liquid and drippings, put them in a saucepan and reduced it down to get rid of some of the liquid, then strained and put the liquid in the fridge overnight. I then skimmed off the solid fat, and used the remainder as the base for my next BBQ sauce.

Montgomery Inn sauce is probably the best I've had. It's a true gourmet Kansas City style sauce at a reasonable price at most grocery stores, and their blend of smoke/spice/bitter and sweet is just right. You have to heat it up before using it:

Born and raised in Cincy...just had half a rack of ribs the other night from there.

My version of pulled pork

4-6 lb pork butt or shoulder. Whatever you can get your hands on. Trim most of the fat but not all.

In a Food Processor:
1 cup dark brown sugar
3 tbsp salt
1 tbsp black pepper
1 tbsp cayenne pepper
3 good pinches of thyme
1/4 cup paprika
1/4 cup red wine vinegar

Blend up and add olive oil till this makes a paste.

Coat pork in paste and let sit covered in fridge over night.

Cook in cast iron pot at ~260 for ~6 hours or in a slow cooker turning half way through cooking. Will be done when you can stick a spoon through it without much resistance.

I pull and serve on a slice of bread for open faced pulled pork sandwiches.
