USPS kindly delivered the mail they held for us while we were gone. Unfortunately they held someone else's mail, not ours. So they jammed 2 weeks of someone else's mail into my mailbox which was full of 2 weeks of my mail. So I've got a bunch of smashed letters and some family was wondering why they haven't been getting any mail

USPS sucks, we moved about 7 months ago and they didnt forward pretty much anything despite us filling out the forms for mail forwarding online.

What didn't get forwarded that you think should have? Bulk business mailers know that their mail won't get forwarded for the discount rate they pay unless they ask for it and agree to pay a fee.

Have tenants when they move out that always say they filled out a change of address/mail forward yet I always keep getting things like packages or important documents i.e. driver's license months after they've already moved.

Bulk mailers must do an NCOA Move Update (National Change of Address) on every single database they use for bulk business mailings and ask a discount for from the USPS, it's mandatory every 95 days if using the same list and must be redone if used after that 95th day. One off mailings that mail single piece and have to pay the full First-Class rate don't have to do that because they aren't asking for a discount, which is why the mail is not being forwarded properly in those cases. It takes roughly 95 days for the USPS to update the national database that is used for this, even though it's updated every week , it's 95 days behind usually.

I wish I had a spam filter for snail mail. I'd probably get like 1 or 2 pieces of mail a month.

Oh you know, random things like cards from family, bills from places i thought i already had updated my address with. Definitely not junk/bulk mailings.
