The "official" rating is 50lbs per surface but I have my 21" Viewsonic P813 on it and kids ocassonally lean on the glass as well. It is a great value. Feels very solid.

I jumped on this last time and it's not flimsy glass. In fact I messed up my back trying to move the box (it's heavy). I take it out and realize the box with the glass inside is 90% of the weight of the box. Bad for your back but good sign of strong glass.

I'm working on this desk right now and it's fantastic. I was comparing this with two other glass desks at Officemax when I bought it last time. The reason I went with this one from Staples was because the glass was thicker by 2mm I believe. It's pretty sturdy...

I have a 19" flat CRT monitor and 19" LCD monitor on one side of the desk. Fantastic desk...

I finally built mine tonight from the deal back in January. It's a nice desk and the glass is pretty thick. I got it for $50AR, but it's definitely a deal even for $80.

just a question for anyone who has one... is it possible to dump the corner unit and just put the two rectangular units side-by-side?

thnking of buying this for my new apartment, but an L shaped desk would totally mess up the entire flow of the room

I briefly considered this when I saw it in the store but when I was testing it out, it seemed like the extra attachment that didn't hold my computer would just get in the way.

I ended up going w/the Matrix glass desk at OD for $60

You can dump the corner unit, but the two sides won't be attached to each other. You would basically have two free standing tables. I think the corner unit actually makes the entire package more stable because of the L configuration.

Interesting, I was under the impression that you'd be short a leg or two if you to use just one portion of it...

clean up.

I finally did that and straightened up the cables after building this desk yesterday. The keyboard tray blocks most of what's under one part of the desk anyways. I mostly see the wall through the glass and can't even see the computer or sub when the keyboard tray is out.

Can you swap this around so that the keyboard tray is on the right instead of on the left?

Yeah. you can. The keyboard tray is just mounted on the 2 long tubes that have holes for the keyboard tray screws. The other side is exactly the same, except no holes for mounting the tray. Just swap 'em. That's what I did.

The corner unit has no legs. It merely attaches itself to each facing side of the long table units.
The keyboard try can be attached to either side.

OK, I might just be dumb, but I can't find dimensions anywhere. Anyone have em?

edit: from another site, 30"H x 60 1/2"W x 23 7/8"D

Just wanna put in my vote for an awesome desk.
I got mine by change browsing through staples and I had a $10 off in the mail some time ago. For $80 and knowing how cool it is now, I'd definitely get it supposing I didn't already have one. Although, buying another one just for 2 free standing desks is kinda nice.
