I haven't defended Beck, I have just pointed out the lies and exaggerations of the left. I know that to the loony left when someone points out the flaws in your argument that you think, or a least attest that they are supporting the subject, the whacky right does it too.

I usually end up watching Beck everyday...its on at work :/ and I can say that this shit is the norm. He is constantly ranting at a level that I can barely even comprehend. Its like the bullshit just spouts out at such a pace that eventually everyone will hear something they can latch on to.

It goes to the very core of the topic at hand. People like to use snippets out of context to attempt to smear people, but if Beck, of anyone else points out a similarity between democrats and the Nazis, just as there are similarities between the ultra right and Nazis, and there are similarities, they attempt to distract and marginalize instead of attacking the actual comparison. They point out that Nazis were fascist therefore can't be socialist, when in fact they were socialist that were so far left they were right. People can't comprehend that because as rjl said the left/right paradigm has been crammed down their throats since birth, when really anarchy and totalitarianism are the spectrum, and left and right rotate around that axis. When it was pointed out that Olbermann is just as much a loon as Beck here comes perknose to his defense, but all he's doing is putting the same coin in the gumball machine.

The punchline of the video is that he is clearly amazed that the Arizona immigration law is being compared to Nazi Germany, yet Lewis Black shows several videos within the past 2 years where Beck compares everything to Nazi Germany and references Hitler in most of them. If you can't find that funny, then you're probably a hack.

Also, make sure you get your shots of Olbermann in there, we wouldn't want to upset the delicate balance of talking heads now would we? It reminds me of my grade school days where the best comeback was "No, YOU are!" *oooooo*

IMO the only valid comparison between AZ and the law and Nazi Germany is if Hispanics were stopped on the streets and ask for their ID based solely on the fact that they are Hispanic. If that doesn't happen ever, if there is no situations of racial profiling, if every person who is stopped lawfully and doesn't have ID on them is checked for their immigration status despite their race then this law and AZ doesn't compare to any totalitarian regime. Wait, that last part does sound a little totalitarian. Fuck me.

Well I for one wouldn't like to have my immigration status checked if I went out for a run without any ID and was stopped for running across the street (Jaywalking). But if that law is going to be fair they'd be obligated to check it no matter what race I was.

In the case of Arizona, I don't think they are worried too much about them illegal hozers. Not sure if you were sarcastic or not, though..

I'm not even sure that combatting Canadian illegals would be worth the cost of enforcement, would it? I have absolutely no numbers to back that up, but it would seem like a Canadian citizen would be much less likely to work for sub-minimum wage paychecks and ship their earnings north.
