I currently have a neopreneish type mousepad. I'm looking for one that my mouse will just glide across without any problems, very smooth to the touch.

Am I looking for something by Func? Any other suggestions?

Get an optical mouse and the use about anything with 'texture' including a piece of silk.

The reason why I need a mousepad is that I have a piece of plexiglass here and I can't use my optical mouse on this surface lol.

CS Hyde C4 N-Gen

Coupled with a mouse with Teflon feet, and/or with the use of Teflon tape on the feet, I have found this pad to be far slicker than the Func 1030 (either surface), and slightly smoother than the XTrac Hybrid.

I have tried many mice on the C4 pad, and all have pretty much floated on the surface. Works with all the optical and laser mice I have used to date. The only problem is that the pad does not take to bending well at all (creases permanently)- other than that, it still looks and feels the same way now as it did six months ago when I first bought it.

CS Hyde also sells Teflon tape by the roll- if you like to use the stuff, buying by the roll is exponentially cheaper than purchasing the tape pre-cut.

I have the new IME3.0 with teflon feet so I think I'm set. I'm going to try the Func and then if that doesn't suit my needs, then I'm going to look into the CS Hyde.

Here is a serious response

If you want the smoothest glide, the icemat or rough plastic pads are best. Icemat is generally consider the most frictionless pad and the steelpad 5L is also very good. However, they are also very expensive.
If you are looking at price, consider any of the func pads. Do not get the 1020 because it is very small. I would suggest the f-series rough or the archetype (if you want more options)
Razer is ok but overpriced. Their products are comparable with steel and func but generally cost 5-10 more.
I personally like cloth pads because I find the extra friction allows for more precise movement. Examples are the steelpad qck, razer mantis, and everglide dkt.
