Title pretty much says it all. I'm replacing the backplate and just curious if there's any special requirements on what kind of glue to use.

Btw, the fact that the old backplate that was put there by the guys in the comp store was glued there too speaks rather clearly for me.

Me, too! Obviously, if it's the correct i/o shield, you don't have to glue it. Ahh, but if I was gonna glue it, I'd use Goop: fills in spaces, surprisingly strong and you can always remove it. Get it at your nearest auto parts store, or wherever

The XP-90's rack mount screws don't fit into the CNPS7000B's backplate.

And I just realized that I put this thread in the wrong forum.

My neo2's backplate already had some sort of adhesive applied. You don't "glue" it on; you just stick it on. The xp-90 can use the stock backplate that comes with the Neo2 (or almost all other 939 boards).

It wasn't exactly glued. See my explanation above. If you wanted to remove the backplate, heat it with a hairdryer.

Those damn service guys stole my stock backplate, all I have is the Zalman one (no sign of native adhesive on it, though it came off pretty easy), and another one I got from the same store just the other day. It's a metal plate (conductive) that has a thick layer of paper on it, held there by two stripes of adhesive. I'm not exactly sure if I should leave the paper on, though after seeing the plate's conductive capabilities I'm leaning more towards that solution.

Gonna call the store about wtf was the concept with a conductive and/or flammable backplate.

Dewd goto the computer shop and buy 2 part thermal epoxy if You must glue it on. Atleast that's made for PCB's, will not have any adverse reactioins with components and will not short anything out. DONT USE GOOP OR SUPER GLUE. Some of those "harsh" glues actually bond molecularly to the surface's and will tear Your PCB all to hell.
