The only ones who know what is being talked about are behind locked doors right now. They could be selling off pieces, the whole things, planning a joint venture, trading technology, etc.

Yeh I know that, but I wasn't sure how "independent" Jeep in particular was.

Sort of like Ford's involvment with Mazda, Jaguar and Volvo. Jeep is quite a bit more removed from Chrysler than say Mecury is from Ford or Pontiac is GM. Or at least that is my perception.
