You are correct! IMAP > POP3

Stupid gmail still hasnt fixed html emails on my blackjack. I refuse to use POP3 to download email to my phone!

IMAP stores mail on the server, rather than storing it on each PC/device that retrieves the mail, which is how POP3 works. That means that any message you read on any client on an IMAP account will reflect as read on any other client using that same mailbox. Same with sent mail, etc. It doesn't, however, extend to contact lists. Just mail.

I've got it, even though I do not really need it.

BTW, I have a program that backs up all my IMAP e-mail (using TB). If anyone wants me to post the info, I will do so when I get home (I forgot what it is called!)

Just make your reply-to address your school address that forwards.

Your school email would be forwarded to gmail, and gmail would store it, which you could access via IMAP connection to gmail. As long as you send the email using your gmail account (be it through the web interface or an IMAP client connected to gmail), regardless of the sender's address, gmail will store it in the IMAP mailbox.

I think he's asking if he can use his schools email account as the 'From' header. That is depending on his email client.

And if you do sent stuff from w/in gmail as a different email address, keep in mind some clients, like Outlook, will show your gmail address right away (it's always in the header regardless)
