Just reading threw some GM news, and ran across an article for their new performace group.
they listed the following models in the article, and quoted an '04 debut:
Cadillac CTS V-Series - "V-Series" is Cadillac's new performance designation, much like "M" is BMW's. The CTS V-Series sedan will be the first of GM's new line of high-performance luxury vehicles. The car will feature a V-8 with nearly 400 hp, a six-speed manual transmission and 18-inch wheels.
Pontiac Bonneville GXP - GXP will be the designation for Pontiac performance vehicles. First up will be the limited-edition Bonneville GXP. It will feature a 4.4-liter V-8 producing nearly 300 hp. Although the car's sheet metal will be unchanged from the 2003 Bonneville, its new look will be achieved by eliminating body cladding and adopting different front and rear styling. The grille draws inspiration from the Pontiac Solstice concept car, as will future Pontiac models.
The Grand Prix GXP will follow, and later will come the Grand Am GXP, which will be based on the next-generation Grand Am. No time period was given for the cars' introduction. A Vibe GXP and a Sunfire GXP also are under discussion, both with supercharged four-cylinder engines.
Chevrolet SS - Chevrolet is using its SS performance designation from the 1960s and 1970s. Show cars debuting here that likely will go into production in approximately 18 months include the TrailBlazer SS, Tahoe SS and Silverado Regular Cab SS. Each truck features a 6.0-liter V-8 with horsepower ranging from 345 to 395, depending on the model. Also, the suspension on each truck is lowered anywhere from 1.5 to 4 inches.
Saturn Ion - While the name for Saturn's performance models has yet to be determined, the first car to get horsepower, handling and braking enhancements will be the Ion. The car's Ecotec 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine will top 200 hp
You might dislike GM, but you gotta admit they are changing the way they do business
