I bought a bunch at $2.75 and had been watching it all day, hoping to sell it over $5. I step out to lunch, it gets up to $5.87, but by the time I get back it's back under $5. I'm probably going to sell before the day's over and jump back on if it drops again.

Edit: Also sold my shares in Verizon Wireless. Jumped on @ 24.00, sold at 32.50.

The News reported tonight that one of the GM plans that they are going to present to Congress is to get rid of Pontiac. They better roll the G8 over to Chevy.

It sounds like GM has plans to make their presentation a Hail Mary. They are really going to lay some cards on the table. I think telling them "no" got their attention.

If they and the UAW come out of meeting impressing everyone with their sincerity, it'll be like hitting a Vegas jackpot.

Ok, so I bought VZW at 24.70, not 24.00. Still a pretty nice gain. I sold today at 32.50. Only 10 shares worth so nothing too big but in the scheme of things a nice gain. I'm a poli sci major fresh out of college so I consider any sort of monetary gain something to be proud of

Of course. Congress knows that by throwing 6 million people out of work they'll be taking an economy in the toilet and then flushing it out of sight.

Can someone recommend a stock or two for me to watch? I'm pretty bummed about missing out on the GM thing, and am trying to make some money to help with a downpayment towards a house in June. Help!

Citigroup Inc. & GM went up due to the hand out.

If you are into gambling then both companies still have much ground to recover.

C @ $7.05, 52 Wk high $35.29

GM @ 4.81, 52 Wk high $29.95

If you are long, both are expected to be in the double digits by early next year thanks to the bail out.

Teck Cominco Limited is also very attractive if you are really long. @ $4.24, 52 Wk high $53.68

IMHO, most stock should climbs in the near future, but it is going to be unpredictable @ the next election due to the effect of the current bail out.

TMA, with a stoplose of 20-25cents, you will either lose ~1/2 of your investment or gain BIG. I bought some more around 28cents 2 days ago.

When you factor in trading expenses, instead of being up 3% for everything, you're down 6%.

I bought in 360 shares at around $3.00 so at almost $5.00 a share I got myself a nice gain. I am greedy though and will wait for $6.00 price before selling.
Got badly burned on NVDA so GM gain is my revenge against a bad market last year...

Just transferred 2k into my sharebuilder account and it'll be avail on monday... 1k to C and 1k to GM. Hopefully I can make some $$.
