Nintendo is moving the US release of the Gamecube UP to September! Jeez, first they bump the GBA, now the Cube? Wow, this is creepily un-Nintendo-ish.

Wait a minute, they bumped the Gameboy Advance up? I remember that it was pushed back from a November launch last year to March, which is right now! So is it out already or something? I feel out of the loop... I gotta grab one!

wow, that's incredible considering the delays that set back the n64 so many times in '96.

i'm doing a big project on the big n right now for an advertising class.

I remember reserving an N64 in March, and getting it in Sept after numerous delays. Still it was sweet to have it 4 days before the inital release date because EB goofed.

I thought I wasn't going to get a gamecube, but the thought of a $150-200 gamecube with the next zelda (when's the next zelda supposed to be out anyways?)is oh so tempting. I'm still getting an xbox though.

I don't have much incentive to buy an X-box. I already have a DVD player, it comes with an unwanted hard drive (I don't want a minicomputer), and all of the good games for X-box will be on Gamecube anyway (not to mention Nintendo-only games, which is reason enough to buy one). X-Box will be much more expensive probably, with NO advantages to me personally.

Go Nintendo, indeed. I think they're the only "good guys" left in the game (with Sega out of the console business, it's just Sony/Microsoft/Nintendo).

Unfortunately, Zelda for the GC will most likely be released late 2002, possibly later. The reason is the big N likes to use the Zelda series as a cash-cow, for both the game itself and the console. They'd do this when they're seeing slowing hardware sales, and a new Zelda release sparks massive media attention. I remember when Zelda 64 was released, many of my friends in college bought an n64 just to play that game! I was reading an article on zdnet about this yesterday, sorry i lost it already.

if they can get the violent pd to lauch early, hopefully the GC won't be branded a kiddie machine!

I think Zelda deserves the right to be a second generation Gamecube title, rather than a first (a spot usually reserved for Mario, Racing games, etc)

GBA will be out 3/21 (?) in Japan, expect a June 11 release in the states. according to the article, the Gamecube should be out there in late-summer, then shortly later here.

i'm looking forward to the start of this war.

Woohoo...looks like Nintendo is going to have to show who's boss just like the Nes/Snes days. Look at PS2 now....after all the hype...it's nothing more than a mere dvd player sitting in the corner for me. (yes I have a ps2) I just got paper mario for N64 and that game is great. Bring on Smash Brothers 2, Luigi 64, Metroid, Zelda...drool

The console is not important to me... all those new released consoles have similar specs and configuration... It's the games they have that's the most important...

Look at PS2... It's an incredibly powerful machine... but with no good games, it's useless... Right now I wouldnt buy a PS2 even if it's $200...

So I plan to wait for a while (a LONG while) and see what comes up... meanwhile I will play on my PS1 and PC when I want games...
