(For the record, I have nothing against RDRAM the memory type, but I'd like to see Rambus the company disolved)

Not only that, but Intel also announced that they will no longer give exclusive usage of the P4 to RDRAM and will stop bundling the P4 with it, meaning OEMs will no longer receive discounts for buying them w/ RDRAM. Seems like all of Rambus's attempts to stay on top in the memory game are failing, lose of Intel support, being denied their SDRAM royalties case, etc. They dug their own grave really so let them deal with it.

this is hardly Rambutt getting theirs at all. they made a stupid claim and even more stupidly went to appeal on it. I don't know what is going on in their brains, maybe they think they can bribe Italian judges. which is not unusual...
what judge would shut down a fabrication plant whilst there was a dispute about intellectual ownership that has been refuted in several countries already?

I think Intel will eventually go to DDR ram only. I know DDR p4 chipsets are in the works and I heard that a chipset releasaed late next year will make RDRAM perform better. Maybe RDRAM will be a big success despite horrible performance and bad press. Personally I couldn't care less about Rambus and their business partner Intel. They both suck!

The Intel 845 chipset is ready to go with DDR, Intel just won't let the motherboard manufacturers sell them. It would be nice to see the company Rambus have to abide by the same rules of competition that everyone else does without Intel carrying them through. Just my opinion...
