Is diesel the future? Do you see it becoming more expensive than gas? Or vise versa? Which do we have more of under ground?
In other words, out of gas a diesel, which one should be more expensive in a couple of years.
Thanks!
I'm pondering the same thing. I've owned a couple of diesel cars. Peugeot and MB, both were beaters. Working on trucks and cranes permitted diesel owners to fill-up from the equipment when we could, hee. hee.
The new V W diesel that came out in 98' got rave reviews in the European automotive press. They have been making improvements on it yearly.
The guys on this board have harsh words to offer about V W quality control, fit, finish, interiors not holding up.
Diesels DEMAND clean air and fuel. Some are a real bitch to prime if they run out of fuel.
They require a bigger battery. Cold starts in sub zero weather are generally easier with gasoline. But 50MPG, more stable fuel costs, and having something different are pluses for me. I'm an old fart and my racing days are long over.
Some people live on farms and run the Red fuel meant for off road use, but thats ill eagel....
Industry is crippled when fuel oil costs go up. To support the cost of fuel oil they just raise the price of gasoline, all the little people get to pay..Thats the way it works.....
Or so it would seem...
