I don't see what the problem is. No one forces you to use a Google Plus account any differently than any other type of account. Ignore the social media profile setup and make a new Google account if you don't want to use an existing account, or turn up all the privacy controls if that's the issue. Google even backed down on the real name policy (not that it's hard to come up with a real sounding name, anyway).

I have like 5 Google accounts. Not a big deal at all. Much prefer it to the single sign-on alternatives like Facebook's solution.

Would it be better if Google forced you to have 10 different logins and use 10 different systems (or more) for their various services?

You can now have a separate account from your other google accounts as well as you can turn off privacy settings. 5 months ago they abandon the real name policy due to governments may cause harm to citizens if they know what the citizens write online.

Why wouldn't you leave negative reviews if the product was bad just because you had to use a Google+ account?

I think that's a good thing. Reviews/comments are one area where Internet anonymity isn't helpful.

You honestly don't understand why you should leave positive feedback on a good app? I don't think you understand the point of app reviews, then. Its not a sounding board so you can anonymously shriek insults at app developers you don't like...its also for, you know, the community. If people don't leave positive reviews, how will others know the difference between an app with no feedback and one that people like?

And if you have to censor yourself if you're using your real name, I agree with the others...that's a good thing.

Easy, just calculate a goodness metric based on the number of number of downloads times the ratio of reviews where someone is telling the devs to go F themselves or comparing the app to the Holocaust divided by the total number of reviews and divide that by the age of the app.

Or just ask on forum because no way would I trust the opinions of app store reviews. Most of them are probably fraudulent reviews that were bought for $.07 per review from some foreign company that sells app store reviews when they're not busy selling likes on Facebook or other junk like that.

I heard about a Yelp case but not a suit from Google App Store reviews... That's craziness.
