god dish network sucks.

im actually about to sign up for dish very soon. I did some research and seems to me that the word on the street is that dish is better than directtv is.

I was very happy until i wanted to switch to HD. at first they wanted to charge me $599 for the 1st HD reciver and another $100 for any additional reciver hookup.

took talking to a manager to get it reduced.

I've been a Dish customer for about 5 years now. Back in October I called to upgrade to HD content. Both times that I called (1st time to see what the deal/costs were) I had someone from the US.
I ended up getting a 2 tuner DVR and kept my old non-hd dvr for another room. It was an 18 month committment, and ended up costing me nothing for the upgrade (aside from an increase in my monthly bill due to programming costs).

Dish Network has been nothing but perfect for me. I have never had an issue with the programming, harware or customer service.

stupid dish network guy. he does not want to climb on my roof. grr he is on the phone with dish network now.

No it is not a steep roof either. he said he does nto climb on wet roofs. oh and he says hooking up a TV in my daughters room is extra! when i was on the phone with dish network i told them i wanted my daughters room hooked up. they said that was fine. i could not add a 5th tv but they will hook up the 4 any way i want.

Yah I got the same thing as you i think. I got the 18mo commitment thing w/HD and the Americas 200 Choice plan.

DirecTV HD content is crap IMO, too much artifacting.
Time Warner screwed me over and their HD content was like 6 channels.
Dish has been good to me so far, I really dig the ViP622 HD DVR, tons of space and good quality there. The HD is good, not as good as what I get with my off air antenna, but then what could be? Plus the Kung Fu channel kicks ass.

humm thats strange. i upgraded to disn 1000 last year and all i did was call dish and setup the upgrade. i had a install van at my house 3 days later.
