Listening to the local morning radio show today in Bakersfield CA and come to find out that http://www.godhatesfags.com http://www.godhatesamerica.com/ http://fredthemovie.com is coming to my town to picket at the funeral of Army Pfc. Ramon Villatoro, Jr who died in Iraq recently. Local people were calling in expressing their feelings and they are gathering to go to the funeral tomorrow and protest the group that will show up. The radio show hosts were making it clear that people should not get violent out of respect for Army Pfc. Ramon Villatoro, Jr, but I know how people are in this town and people tend to get violent easily here. I've had more than a few close calls with some of the less-desireable people here myself. So I am expecting something major to happen. Likely cops will be out there to keep the peace but who knows what will happen.

btw speaking of protestors at the funerals of the killed in Iraq. I saw footage of a funeral on the news lastnight that was disturbing. Some anti-war showed up and had signs that said "Thank god for IEDs" and "Babykiller".

I thought we as a nation grew up from that crap that was done in Vietnam.

Its run by Reverend Fred Phelps, from Topeka, Kansas. His basic belief is that everything wrong with the world can be attributed to gay people. He said the tsunami's last December were god's way of getting revenge at a bunch of Swedes (or was it Swiss?) because of a recent Nordic government policy of granting gay marriage rights.

Eventually, someone is going to put a bullet in his head, and then it will be time to make a road trip to protest his funeral.

Those asshates were reportedly going to do the same thing at a soldiers funeral in Moorhead, MN. I don't know if they ended up picketing or not.

I'd be happy to see these people gone. Plant some wires in their jackets and tell the cops they're terrorists.

well the thing is the family and friends of the dead army pfc have to endure not only the death of their loved one but also the fact that this dumb group is coming to picket the funeral. I think if a huge crowd shows up in support of the family of the army pfc it could help the family by drowning out the picketers, that or it could make it a horrible traumatic experience if things get out of hand.

That's exactly what the group wants, that one someone to lose control and do something stupid. Then all they have to do is take them to court, sue them and get money to support there cause.

In this case those weren't any crazy hippies. If you see signs that say "Thank god for IEDS" most likely they will be part of Fred Phelps "God Hates America" group.

lol I graduated in 2001. What is your major? I was just up there about a month ago and went to the airshow. Had to been 100 degrees.
