I like snow, and it makes me sad that we don't get it here. I agree with others when they say it is easier to be cold than hot. One can only take off so many clothes.

It's just so damn disruptive. And it's every friggin year.

There's a good reason why so many people move to Florida. And Florida's crazy.

It's been the 30's all week. 28 now but still very hot.

Our local FD is going to one of the local parks and they'll be spraying water from their aerial ladder so people can go cool off. Neat idea and fun way to get cooled off. If I was not working I'd go check it out lol.

I wish this low on my side of the country would piss off. It's 62F and wet.

It was supposed to be a nice dry week but that all changed overnight when a low parked itself near WV. Coolest June temps I can remember. It's also weird seeing the wind coming from the east.

El Nino is supposed to make for dry weather over our area but that hasn't been the case the last two weeks.

Wow that's brutal. I don't envy anyone that has to work in this sort of heat. Postal workers, package delivery etc is also very cut throat, they monitor your every move so you can't really stop to take a break. Even construction workers get a bit more slack. Although they are working more in direct sun, so I don't envy them either.

Just got back from the California trip and was not ready for 100+ temp around Austin. At least it's cooler today and tomorrow due to few storms, but then back to 102 to 106 next week... =.=

God I hope the humidity at least calms down. Nothing like having San Antonio turn into Calcutta for a week.

Mild here. Quite the blessing as I've been under the weather and my fuse has been quite short lately. been nice not hearing the barks of mutts and the loud crass discussions flowing in from the neighbours yards on our usual hot nights.

I love Summer and the hotter the better. Walking around Las Vegas at 2am and it's 85 degrees outside. Wonderful! Or biking when its 95. Soaking it up! And people tell me YOU NEVER SWEAT. Maybe thats why I like the heat.

You do sweat, but it evaporates. Also, you're insane.

Brutal hot out again today! 31C. Went outside on my break to test my portable solar setup to do a discharge test. Had my phone with me so I can keep track of time and it thermally shut off within a few minutes just being outside. The solar cabinet was not doing too well either, charge controller temp was 49C. Battery discharging way faster than it should too, I suspect I have an issue with the battery as it gave me bad vibes even before I did this test but I do wonder if the temps are also playing a role. It doesn't seem to hold a charge. Will drop fast, then go right back up to full within a few minutes. Seems suspect.

This is something I may have to keep in mind when working on my off grid property... will be relying a lot on battery powered tools, and they don't like the heat. I may need a small fridge to charge batteries in until I build a permanent building with AC. I wouldn't want to be charging tool batteries in these temps. Although in the bush and in the shade it might not be as bad. I find trees almost have a cooling effect. Even in town I can actually feel cold spots at the ground when walking under a big tree.

But then you have to shovel the stuff. It's a giant PITA.

Now say if you had mentioned Phoenix... you might have a case that it's a tad too hot there. Although I guess you would be close enough to the mountains that you could go there if the heat's a bit much.
Just looked it up and Phoenix is only 108 on heat index. Meanwhile in my neighborhood

What's kind of perverse is it doesn't even feel that bad compared to how it was a few days ago.
