Where is that? 29C = 84F dewpoint is freaking horrendous and that heat index is about 49C = 120F.View attachment 82939
Only 34C but I got bathed in my own sweat, walking an hour from work to home.
IIRC he's in Dubai.Where is that? 29C = 84F dewpoint is freaking horrendous and that heat index is about 49C = 120F.
Ah makes sense, west side of the Persian Gulf is maybe the ugliest most humid weather in the world.IIRC he's in Dubai.
And people are actually moving into these places.
Business trip. But I honestly don't mind the weather in Phoenix. I guess I am a lizard.Could only handle it for 2 days?
Well, it's got most of the same letters in at leastAbu Dhabi
Really interesting bit of info. There's a $125 fine here for feeding stray cats if you get caught but don't think it's implemented that strictly. There's not THAT many stray cats (I will see maybe half a dozen in most neighborhoods). The really sad thing is when their fur turns a mix of black and yellow (some disease from getting wet in the rain).Should have remembered since that's where Garfield always wanted to send Nermal, there's even a song about it.
So you are missing an unprecedented eleven day stretch of 105+ in Austin, which is still ongoing (Austin's high was 106 today). We have had it easier in the San Antonio area, as our stretch was only ten straight days of 104+, which is also the first time this has happened in recorded history here, and we broke it today by having a nice and cool 103.Moved from here:

There is literally no part of me that misses Texas.

I seriously can't recall ever seeing more than 3 or 4 straight days of 104+ in my area. Can't believe this summer might actually end up worse than last summer, the worst ever recorded out here.
Yeah Arizona is certainly getting it much worse than South and Central Texas right now, no doubt whatsoever. Our dewpoints are dropping low enough in the day that the heat index is only 2-5 degrees over the air temperature this last week or so. I'll put our horrible June heat dome up against that though, when we were regularly seeing heat indices in the 117-125 range northeast of San Antonio where I'm at. We're all getting boned by global warming though. Had a three week heat dome in June and who the hell knows when this currently two week heat dome will end. Our local forecasts have it with us through at least early August. And August is our hot month.I know you guys in Texas get the humidity but Phoenix set a record Wednesday with 20 straight days of 110° and above. Also 10 straight days of the temp not dropping below 90° at night.
Another Phoenix heat record has been broken. Here's our tally of all the records broken during heat wave
The list of broken heat records in the Phoenix area keeps getting longer with another record broken on Wednesday morning and three more on Tuesday.www.azcentral.com
Why isn't the governor using artificial rain to at least cool things down a bit? Lack of funds?Welcome to Hell Arizona
Well, I think it's called cloud seeding. I don't exactly understand it but agree it doesn't make sense somehow.Yea, but how would artificial rain work? As far as I'm aware it all hokum and unproven science. If you had a copious fresh water source you could just spray it around. Is that what it is?
