Just sharing my excitment. Hopefully I'll find a copy later today.

Hrm, surprised that there is no other thread on this. Well, I'll join in your excitment then MStele! I consider myself a huge fan of this series and have recently (within the last year) had the craving to replay the first two games, so this release couldnt be any better timed.

I'm just excited to play the first two games in widescreen, 720P @ 60 FPS. I know this isnt a very meaningful post, sorry, I'm just excited and will be picking up this up today.

I preordered. Picking it up tonight. I haven't played 2 yet. I'll start with that and then replay 1 in HD awesomeness.

The second in is argueably better than the first in both scope and overall epicness, but really both games are solid action games.

I pre ordered it through Best Buy and it was supposed to be there on the 17th. It wasn't there yesterday and said they will have it tomorrow (today). I tried calling and got no answer. So, I went to Best Buy and they still did not have it. I then went to Gamestop and they had it so I bought it from there and cancelled my pre order from Best Buy.

I pre-ordered and picked it up an hour ago. Will play a little later.

First I need to play more CoD:MW2 (PC version). Need to unlock Hardcore TDM. One or two more levels I think.

Best Buy doesn't usually get their games a day early like Gamestop. On more than one release date, i've gone in the morning and they would tell me it would be on the afternoon delivery truck, and it was always true. I'd usually walk in at 5ish and the games were usually just put on the shelf. I hope I'm right again this time, since i'm going check my local Best Buy at 5. Gamestop isn't getting a dime from me.

I've never played any of the God of War games...are they very good? Anyone who buys this...please post your impressions...especially the graphics. Are the texture resolutions bad?

God of War 2 was hailed as the best PS2 game ever by some places and numerous people. The in game graphics have been updated but the cut scenes have not.

I never played 1 and 2, so this is new to me. So far the game moves really well. The graphics look great. The movement is awesome with one exception so far being the camera angle not moving behind you when you would actually like it but it is 98% plus right so far for the camera angle. I am having fun.

No it's not, it's one of the best parts of the game. It's one less thing to worry about and let's you focus on playing the game instead of playing director. You are probably just used to having to do it. The camera goes where it needs to go, trust it.

My biggest annoyance with it so far was the fight with the Hydra which got me to use everything I was taught so far which was great.

Okay so I've been playing God of War I and yeah I'm getting used to the camera. Game seems pretty good so far...although the cutscenes could definitely have used the makeover.

I died to the Hydra thinking my block was working and then I was messing up and not blocking in time a bunch but the angle was getting me killed. I finally got used to it and am getting better with it.

I am pleased with the game so far.

Is there something you're supposed to do when the Hydra attacks and you block and there's split second pause? I killed them anyway but is there anything you're supposed to do at the pause to inflict more damage?

Oh and for some reason it sends my 40GB PS3 fan into overdrive almost immediately...unlike any other game which takes a while for the fan to spin up.

No, you just get a small stun from the block (I think this is what you are asking). When you got 2 Hydra heads down below and one up top, the one up top is what gave me a hard time.

I got all the way up to saving the Oracle and ummmmm yeah, that puzzle sucked. I am all for puzzles in games but that was horrible.

I loved God of War (1 & 2) for the PS2 so I was psyched when I heard about the collection a while back. I got my copy from Amazon last night and played it for about 3 hours The graphics are pretty great - definitely superior to the PS2 versions.

About the loss of camera control, some parts in the beginning it can be frustrating to not have control over the camera (there was a room that I couldn't get out because I couldn't find the switch) but overall you get a good (probably the best) view of the action.
