On a side note, you could try the freezer trick, if it's just a stuck head, it might actualy work long enough to get the data off, worked for me, and strange thing is the drive is still running.
Well when it worked for me I had a stuck head. Heat causes expansion, cold causes compression. Since everything is so close together in there, my guess is the compression caused by the cold was just enough to allow the stuck head to get free. That was ~9 months ago, I managed to recover all 80gb from my drive, but the strange part is that it's still working.
