Is this only picking up games you have installed and not games sitting in your account? I can't confirm as it picked up 4 installed games and I don't think I have any of the others sitting in my account.

If it only picks up installed games I wonder if simply initializing the install in Steam is enough to get the free copy at GOG.

You don't have to have them currently installed. It's accessing your purchased games list through Steam's API Valve made available and verifying you own them.

Yes, multiple. I even did it on a machine that didn't have Steam installed at all.

Thank you! I was worried I would have to go through 250+ games every week or so to make sure they got picked up by GOG.

You do have to tell GOG to add the games it finds to your Library once you do the Connect thing (simple button confirmation), I don't think it does it automatically.

It should show which games it finds as well. If it doesn't pick them all up, there is a "refresh" option - you may need this since they got hammered with the initial announcement.

That's how they get you to keep coming back to their site. But I'm ok with that as long as they are giving me something in return. I even purchased Unreal Tournament 2004 directors cut edition for $2.49 to show my appreciation. It was one of the "connect" games I didn't own.

P.S. Grab this set of free games soon as they will be gone in less that 21 hours.

Did a refresh today and added X Rebirth. I didn't get all the dlc that came with my Steam version though.

I don't see any downsides to connecting GOG to Steam. Yes, once you add something to GOG, it should stay there forever. The caveat is that there's typically a small window during which you can add certain games.

I've added The Witcher 1 and 2 to my account so far, and it was pretty easy to do so.
