Going for long hair as a mid-twenties male

Had long hair till I was about 23. Minus a 2 year stint in prison where I shaved my head bald. Bald was a Bad look on me. Now I just wear it short because its a hassle to mess with my hair these days. Waist length though? Middle of the back is far as a man needs to take it.

It's very difficult to look well groomed with long hair. Depending on your line of work, it may cost you in the same way a tattoo on your neck would.

I don't need to unlock my inner viking, I'm already a fullblood one and I say men with long hair makes it a shitload harder to know whom to rape and whom to pillage and when they start lamenting it's just weird for everybody involved.

i'm 27, was 25-26 when the pic was taken. i wish my hair wasn't so damn thick. i know it was hideous long but i was planning on donating it to locks of love. was told the minimum was 12 inches. i didn't know it was from where your ponytail starts that would have taken another year+. this was right before i cut it @ 11 inches:

I've had hair down to my mid/lower back since I was 16ish. I'm 26 now.

I say go for it. If it's what you want to do, and you're not hurting anyone else, who cares what other people think?

I've had long hair since the 80s, and haven't cut my hair in over 10 years. Do what you like. Other people's opinions are irrelevant.

Yeah, not entirely true, especially when it comes to finding a job in your chosen field.

I had long hair through middle of my senior year of college, but was smart enough to know that I would get nowhere as an accountant if I kept my long hair. It's just part of the culture. So, I cut it and have kept it short for 25 years. I would love to let it go long again and in my current position I could probably get away with it, but I'm not sure it's worth the risk.

My hair is maybe 6-8 inches, I'm 32. I used to keep it buzzed short, but, my woman likes it longer, so, I have allowed it to grow longer the last couple of years (the last time I buzzed it off was in the spring of 2012, and she didn't like it, so I haven't cut it really since then.)

I plan to let it grow out until it annoys me, or until it annoys here, at which time I will buzz it or go to a barber.

Nothing wrong with long hair. But it shouldn't go over shoulder length. More than that and it starts looking trashy, or worse, feminine.

Sorry, but long hair on men now just looks, well, dumb. Know that I was in my 20s during the 60s, and wore it long then. Bald now, but even if I had a full crop, I'd still keep it reasonably short, especially 'cause it's almost all grey. Long hair on mature men is NOT an attractant to the opposite sex (or so I'm told).

I don't think it's been in style since Grunge in the 90's and nothing indicates it's coming back in style.

If you want long hair then all power to you but it is way out of style. I'm not saying you have to jump on the newest trend bandwagon but long hair is definitely not even remotely in.

Do what you want to. I had long hair in high school and college. Then joined the Army and had to keep it short for 5 years. Just got it grown back out to around shoulder length. When going through that awkward stage where you cant do anything with it I found that you can use a pair on sunglasses pushed up on your head as a hair restraint. People who think that all males should have short neat hair should worry less about what people want to do with their own hair.

Had long hair when I was younger, but then around age 18 it started falling out. Now I keep it short, although I have a receding hairline. Wish I had my dad's hair though. He's 60 with a full head of thick hair, and no grey hair. Even my grandfather never lost his hair (it just thinned out a bit) while undergoing chemotherapy at age 73-74. If I could, I'd be rocking hair down past my shoulders like the inner viking I am.

Probably a good thing I'm going bald though. My fiance said she'd never be with me if I had long hair rofl. Men with long hair grosses her out apparently.
