Going for long hair as a mid-twenties male

It's out of style. Plain and simple.

I don't think it's been in style since Grunge in the 90's and nothing indicates it's coming back in style.

If you want long hair then all power to you but it is way out of style. I'm not saying you have to jump on the newest trend bandwagon but long hair is definitely not even remotely in.

Longer hair on guys has never really been "in style", not in the past 50 years at least. Even during the grunge era of the 90s only a small percentage of people actually grew their hair out. The "messy" hair look of the late 90s/early 00s was a style. The "beiber" was a style. A very large chunk of the youths wore it.

Shoulder length hair, when reasonably washed and combed, can be pretty nice.

Back in the 70s I saw beer vendors at the ballpark with fake ponytails. I still don't know what to think of that. I guess they were trying to project some kind of image, but for the life of me, I don't know what that would be :^D

I thought it was mandatory to have long hair in the 70s; maybe they were scared of being beaten by uncoiffed masses. :hmm:

Probably a good thing I'm going bald though. My fiance said she'd never be with me if I had long hair rofl. Men with long hair grosses her out apparently.

I'm just the opposite. I like long hair on guys - assuming it's clean and well-kept, and they aren't fussing with it all the time.
