Question Going from 27 to 32 - experiences?

I have a 27" 1440p display and am considering getting a 32" 4K slightly curved display, as I now have more room on my desk.

It needs to both be great as an office work monitor, gaming monitor and general putz around monitor. I have found a great all around monitor but I am wondering if those who have
went from 27" to 32" find them too big or just right? Any general experiences?

The one I got is the m32uC - 629 new. 470 with a used rating of 9 out of 10 from B&H. Which means just slightly some signs of physical use, only cosmetic.

I went from a 24" 16:10 (1920x1200) to a curved 34" 21:9 (3440x1400) and I got used to it within a day or two. Both are VA monitors. I can't imagine using anything smaller now, and regular 16:9 displays seem weird to me now with how "tall" they are.

Be careful with used monitors. It could have been returned for dead pixels or some other defect like excessive backlight bleed.

I'll check it out thoroughly. B&H only sells used items with cosmetic blemishes, but zero functional ones. That should eliminate bad pixels, but I will still check for them and background bleed, thanks for reminding me

I went from a 27” 1440p to a 32” 1440p monitor. Even at the same resolution, I like the bigger display. Text size is quite comfortable, and it’s easier to reach high refresh rates than a 4K display.

I'm excited now with the positive experiences. This is a 4K model but I will be gaming at 1440p for some games. Will be glad to use the extra screen real estate of 4K in Windows though.

Well definitely no blacklight bleed. I'll do a deeper dead pixel test later but on a totally black screen and a totally white screen I saw nothing. May have just saved $150. Love the size. Debating on the curve. I think it's useful on this size but would really need to A/B with a totally flat screen to truly know. It doesn't feel tough on my eyes to see anything on the edges at all, it's just an overall getting used to a monitor being curved at all.

Well putting on BF 2042 in full 4k glory via Xbox just made the curved work in an instant. It would be tougher to see things at the peripheral without the curve.

With TVs it's really hard to go too big, but with something so close to you I was a little concerned. All for naught

I have a triple 32" curved 1440p display setup on my desk. My center monitor is a fancy MSI 165hz and the two on the wings are Acer and the other is Aopen which is Acer. Aopen is supposed to be a tier below Acer but it's actually better than the Acer. Those are both 144hz and all are VA panels. The MSI has RGB and USB-C connections as well as Display Port and HDMI. It also has a USB hub for cable management.

Above it I recently wired in a articulating mount that has a 43" 4k above my monitors on the wall. No visible wires on the TV.

The MSI is a 1500R curve which is the most curvature offered. You can tell the MSI is a curved monitor while the other two are 1800R which is a more modest curve and you cannot tell by looking at the screen on those. If you look at all 3 monitors from the side, they are obviously curved monitors.

Here's my MSI monitor but in the 4K variant. The OP mentioned he may want a 4K curved monitor. Same case, stand and bezel.

Well there is another reason. If you get a nice big display then go to work at a site that has a smaller monitor, or even another room in your home, it's hard to go backwards to a smaller display.

I could see 1440p for a gaming monitor, but there's no way that gaming is important enough to me that I'd make my primary use monitor (for tasks other than gaming), less than 4K. The vertical pixels mean everything to me for non-gaming use.

Yes I am fine with 1440p gaming, the jump from 1080p to 1440p is much more noticeable to me than to 4K. I just wanted more screen real estate in general. The curved was the bigger question along with the size being a part of it. My desk is deep so I have room to change the distance between the monitor and my eyes. So far I'm 50/50 on it for typing and office work though I'm getting used to it already. But for gaming, the curve was immediately noticeably advantageous at 32".

I went from a 27 inch, to a 32 inch, and I've enjoyed the outcome of that choice. I am able to see things in much greater detail. And the colors are significantly cleaner.

Its a Godsend... to the point where i don't even look at 27's anymore.
On 4K 32 inch i think is bare minimum if you don't want to use scaling or squint real hard.
Personally i use a 43 inch in portrait mode as a productivity monitor as well.
The 43 inch is a god send, however its a bit too tall from the height i sit at, so a lot of the top real estate goes somewhat unused, but the larger aspect ratio is a godsend.

I recommend all the way to go 32 inch especially if your going 4k.
This way you can turn down scaling, and have the true 4k real estate.
