While I have said the same things in other Palin threads, I find it somewhat amazing that Sarah Palin has not done the needed self studying to really get up to speed on all the various Washington DC National issues.
Sarah Palin's general ignorance of national issues may have been understandable in late August/2008 when McCain, out of the blue, suddenly picked her to be his running mate. And partly fault the McCain campaign managers who exploited Palin's quick study ability to be an emotional and polarizing figure able to charge up the very right wing of the GOP that McCain failed to excite. But still, in the grand scheme of things, McCain and his mouth doomed his general election chances when he glaringly underestimated the severity of the financial meltdown in 9/2008. And by then, Sarah Palin was alienating more non far right GOP voters than she energized on the far right. And even then its an academic question, the McCain Palin ticket lost rather big in 2008, and in both the
Presidential and Legislative vote counts.
So we must face the facts, we are now talking about a golden opportunity to take over the leadership of the rather rudderless GOP. I think its safe to say, 2008 was McCain's last hurrah's, and now he is simply too old. Gov. Sanfort has self destructed, I see no credible GOP candidates credible from the various legislative branches, and in my mind, a credible Sarah Palin could be in a position to make a run at GOP leadership.
And instead, like a one trick pony, Palin has opted to remain ignorant and polarizing. A route to personal riches even in a field already populated by the likes of Ann Coulter, Rush Limbaugh, and Glenn Beck, but not a road that will ever lead to either political power or electability.
