Going to be serving drinks tomorrow for New Years!

Please add to the list. Tell me any drink that should be served, and how you would serve it. Thanks!

Here's the list so far (add to it please ):
-Wine.
-Champagne.
-Tequila shots (with lemon?).
-Margaritas (Jose Cuervo mix, with Cuervo Margarita salt).
-Apple Martinis.
-Ouzo Metaxi shots.
-Beer (Corona, Heineken, Dos Equis, Negro Modelo).
-Vodka mixed with Red Bull/OJ.
-Hypnotiq.
-Alize.
-Juices to mix with (Cranberry, Pineapple, OJ).
-Club Soda (mixer).
-Limes and Lemons for beers and tequila.

Please add to this list, and we can use it to give others an idea of what to serve, too!

champagne needs flutes. not wine glasses.

white wine is in tall, thinner glasses... red in largers, wider glasses to allow it to breathe.

keep some club soda on hand for wine spritzers in case someone wants to drink but not get hammered. Cranberry works well too.

there is not really a lot more i can advise, as i dont really drink the other stuff listed. except for the occasional margaritas... but never frozen.



edit: grab a bottle of vodka. it is so versatile... it is never a bad idea to have a bottle laying around.

Just stick with the drinks that are popular in your circle of friends. Then get a few bottles of champagne for midnight.

are those the only beers being served? be a trendsetter. serve better mexican beer over the passé corona and have a dark beer option. if you decide to go that route, leave it as an open-ended question in this thread and im sure you'll get some good recommendations/suggestions.

20 people will be there. About 15 will be old enough to drink, but a few are really heavy drinkers.

Who is going to be showing up? For the women who rarely drink, they all seem to like white zinfandel(shudder). I've never seen anyone drink tequila outside of a bar.

Usually you say out loud to everyone to help themselves. One brave soul goes over & pours or mixes something. You wait a couple minutes, & everyone starts asking him what's that. Then everyone goes up & asks for "one of those", regardless if they know what it is or if they like it.

If your serving people who regularly drink, then you should find out what they like beforehand.

White zin, champagne, vodka, rum, coke, fruit juices regardless of what everyone else likes.

I have plenty of wine ready, my family loves it (they're not into hard liquor). So you're saying I shouldn't "bartend," per se, I should just tell them to help themselves?

Unless you have a couple loose cannons in the family & need to keep things under lock & key, ask them what would they like to drink, maybe recommend something they like, then pour it for them. After that first drink, let them loose.

two good suggestions that i was going to reply with. it will be a little bit more than say a 12-pack of corona, but your tastebuds will thank you later.

I would also have some martinellis handy for the nondrinkers.

As far as beer goes, if you want to add a light choice, Amstel Light is quite tasty for a light beer.

yep, my ralphs/albertsons/food 4 less carry them. if you have a bevmo nearby, go there for alcohol. the selection there is outstanding.

If alot of these guys/gals are beer drinkers first, or have to drive/somewhere to go tomorrow, you can throw all that hard stuff out the window. Just fill up a tub with plenty of ice & bottles. Have both, but don't go too crazy on the alcohol if you sense they all would grab a beer over a screwdriver.

Just stock up on hard liqueurs and their fixing:
vodka
rum
gin
tequila
amaretto (for the ladies)
southern comfort

sodas (coke, sprite, ginger ale, and club soda)
triple sec
grenadine
lime juice
pineapple juice
sweet & sour

that will cover a lot of drink types

If you want some beer variety some others to try are Red Stripe (Jamaican), Warsteiner (German) and maybe a local microbrew

also make sure you have something american light (bud, miller, coors etc...)
