Going to Florida at end of October - but where?

As part of our Florida vacation package we get tickets for one day to one park Disney or Universal. I'll be 6 mos pregnant then and won't be able to go on rides. I have seen all the parks (as a kid) except for Animal Kingdom, my husband has only been to Epcot (as a kid as well). I'm a bit skeptical about the whole adult "Micky experience" I think the fun of Disney/Universal is watching your kids have fun and experiencing all this as a family - am I wrong? What parks would you recommend for two adults on a relaxing vacation before baby comes?

I was going to say go to Epcot and drink your way around the world (we did it last month), but being 6mos pregnant kinda nixes that idea.

I'd guess I'd do Animal Kingdom in that case (although I've never been, I'd assume there's less emphasis on rides).

I'm an adult and I still love the parks. My gf's cousin works for Disney, so we go for free pretty regularly.

loup garou -

I only remember the kids rides and stuff at Disney - from your post it sounds like there are enough things for adults to do?

BTW - are you a Cornwell fan?

Well, I guess a good portion of the reason we like Disney so much is nostalgia -- those "kids rides" are still fun to us, as are all the good memories of going when we were younger!

I think between all the parks, there is plenty for adults to do, but I think you can get enough in a very full day or 2 leisurely days.

For example, when my gf and I were there last month, we started around 1pm, got lunch at Epcot, had a couple beers at Germany & England pavilions, rode a couple Epcot rides, took the monorail to Magic Kingdom, rode all the rides we wanted, park was closing early for some Halloween event, so then we rode monorail back to Epcot, drank at a couple more pavilions, had dinner at Morocco Pavillion, had coffee and baklava and watched the fireworks in the pouring rain, then left as Epcot was closing (9pm?). It was great. I would've loved to spend another day with a parkhopper pass and hit up MGM and maybe the Magic Kingdom again (revamped Pirates of the Caribbean was closed )...maybe Animal Kingdom too as I've never been.

Universal is awesome as well, but if you can't ride any rides, I'd imagine it's pretty miserable.

I don't know who Cornwell is....

Thanks -

I thought your moniker may have been a tribute to one of the characters in Patricia Cornwell's books: Le Loup Garou from the Black Notice

I thought Epcot is the shiz if you're 6 or if you're married and going back to relive the experience through your kids. Otherwise, go some place else. Is there still a Busch Gardens in FL? I remember they had an "international" beer garden there.

Epcot, the Food and Wine Festival will still be going on when you visit.

While you won?t be able to enjoy the wine your hubby will. And you will still get to eat all the good food.

Epcot also has the most shows and rides that would be safe for you. There are only 4 things you can?t go on (Test Track, Mission Space, Body Wars and maybe Soarin) otherwise you can go on every other attraction at the park.

There are also live bands and acts through out the park.

I worked at Disney for nearly 7 years and Epcot was my favorite park to just hang out at.

BTW at that time of year Animal Kingdom would only take you half a day, and there really are no rides you can go on, just watch the shows and animals, seems like a waste of a 'free' ticket. (Unless you can park hop with the ticket, then half a day at DAK and half a day at Epcot)

Of all the parks, I thought MGM was the neatest. I enjoyed the stunt shows they had. The one with the little cars and bikes was cool.
