Expect to be out like a light when the IV kicks in. Expect to wake up in a recovery room with chipmonk cheeks full of spit. Novicain will leaving you drooling like a basset hound for a few hours so be careful when you tip your head because bloody spit will pour out of your mouth. If they offer you pain drugs, take them, at least for the first day. Then try to wean yourself as soon as you are able. Follow whatever directions the oral surgeon gives you as far as oral hygiene goes. Don't plan anything productive for the first day and maybe the second. Don't drive.
