I'm going to New York City, and plan on seeing the normal historical sites (besides the empire state building) and eatings lots of good ethnic food. What are things a history and food loving and nerd would like to do?

I'm also interested in finding the loose womenz.

My favorite restaurants in NYC are: Kraft's Steakhouse, Miyamoto and Ben & Jack's steakhouse. You might want to take a look at those restaurants.

Because I'm behind your slow ass, trying to get to work. When you stop, you stop in my way.

WTC is awful in this aspect - people standing all over the place looking down on a square block hole in the ground.

I have seen hot coffee spilled on someone who just stopped short in middle of the sidewalk to stare upwards. The guy behind him just plowed right into him. This happens all the time. For someone who works there (and thankfully I no longer do), walking the streets in some areas is like a running back in the NFL. Look for an opening and dodge through because it closes up real fast.

Wherever you travel you do not want to look like a tourist. EVER.

The worst are the tourists who go to New Orleans and think its the popular thing to wear beads when it isn't Mardi Gras. Those are the people who are just looking to be scammed/robbed

You like Korean food? try flushing. You got to try these halal street vendors, as well.
Tell me you're flying here and taking public transportation...

Are you sending a raw tourist to Queens? It will take him a week to figure out how to get around the block! Queens has THE most confusing streets in the country.

I love Korean food. I'm flying there and I guess I'm using public transportation and/or taxis to get around. I'm going with my family, but lots of the time it will be just my Dad and I cause we don't like broadways or shopping for clothes.

I'll be right behind you making it like a 3 car pileup on the sidewalk. This is why I sometimes hate walking on 5th ave.

Green Bo in Chinatown. Best dim sum I've ever had. Also, go across the street after for red bean ice cream.

I just went to NYC for my first time this past Saturday. I live in upstate NY so it's kinda sad I never went there before. Talk about a lot of people.

We went everywhere, Central Park, Ground Zero, Columbus Circle/Trump Towers, Statue of Liberty, Wall Street, Times Square etc. This was accomplished greatly from having a friend who had a friend that lived in the city and knew how the subways worked (HUGE help). The mall next to Columbus Circle was amazing, especially the Samsung store.

That's about all I can remember...there was a lot of stuff going on down there. I will NEVER live in a city though, I know that much.

aren't there signs that say you can't sit there and stare around? or is it no pictures? or was it no standing? i forget.

you gotta drive the city at night though. call me strange, but i rather enjoyed it. it's all about driving with the horn and wedging into any open space. it's also pretty cool when you hit a green light wave. you'll be able to navigate a large stretch of a street w/o stopping.

you gotta hit the halal vendors. there's sammy's halal on 73rd and broadway (yes it's in queens). he won the vendy. his chicken is a lot better than his lamb. but there is a kicker, if he's not tending the cart, the food SUCKS.

there's another place. that has AMAZING lamb. it's on 53rd and 6th, next to the hilton. you GOTTA eat there. the eats are cheap and it's almost always open.

you into sheesha/hooka? if you are, lemme know, i'll get the location of the place in queens that's not too bad, and it's open 'till 4am. i'm pretty sure david blane was sitting at the table next to us.

gotta go to Big Wong's for one of the best original chinese restaurants in Chinatown, NYC, its on Mott Street right off of Canal Street. I recommend the Roast Pork on Rice.

If you like Japanese, theres this place called Yama's near West 4th Street, highly recommend.

And if u want to try the best hotdogs in the nation, Gray's Papaya has a few locations around town, be sure not to go to the imitations: Kings Papaya, Papaya King.. etc
