It has been a while. My wife and I are taking a long weekend on the labor day holiday to fly to Fresno. Our intention is to spend a day at Sequoia, a day at Yosemite and perhaps a day in wine country (Napa or other).
I understand that Yosemite is going to be probably very crowded on the weekend, but we are staying a day afterwards also.
We fly in Fresno on Saturday. I was thinking of driving to a location like Exeter (?) that is near Sequoia, that way we could be closer and get an early start. After the visit and small hike, pics etc. This would all occur on Sunday. Labor Day, we would like to perhaps have a wine country stay, we know nothing about them, except my wife likes wine. . So any recommendations would be great that would help in our aggressive triangle area of travel. A nice place, but not too nice would be fine. Pretty views, good food and a place to stay.
Tuesday, we would like to do Yosemite. So I am unsure if it would be best to stay in the Park and use the transport they can provide. We may need to skip the wine trip as it does seem a bit much to do as we leave out of Fresno on Wednesday. We are from the East Coast area, so getting an early start probably will not be a problem.
So if you could, if you have been to these areas or know it well, some assistance for planning, must sees and what to avoid would be most helpful.
